Re: St. Louis Cardinals 2019

We shall see if Knizer is ready. Hope so. Carp will no doubt be inserted right back in at 3b replacing Edmon/Munoz both of whom are better options. If the Cardinals don't make a trade before the deadline, they have no shot. I fully expect the Cubs to start to pull away. All season the mantra has be...

Re: St. Louis Blues 2019 - 2020

Binnington signs for 2 years and $8.8 million. You can bet he gets a long term extension if he backs up his play this year I like this deal for the Blues. If Binnington ends up being a fluke (which I'm sure many Blues fans hope he won't be), it doesn't hurt them that much against the cap long term....

Re: 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup Thread

Why not pay them based on World Cup success? Or Olympic success? Because that isn't how business works. They get paid based on how much profit US Women’s Soccer makes. The men’s game brings in more cash so the players make more money. I saw a break down that showed that the women earn 13% of the pr...

Re: Durant and Irving

No one is the same after an Achilles tear. Kyrie can't be the best player on a championship team. This won't turn out well. At worst they won't have Durant for one season. This team is set up to contend in the East even without Durant for year. They'll have Kyrie and DeAndre Jordan along with key g...

Re: St. Louis Cardinals 2019

Yes I get all that but I really thought he might come back and give something but his total stubbornness an unwillingness to try to beat the shift is mind-boggling He tried to bunt in his first at bat against Oakland and Chapman made a great play to still throw him out. Lefties basically are forced...

Re: St. Louis Blues 2019 - 2020

Gunnarsson brought back on a 2 year 3.5 million deal. I like the deal though I do wonder if this means the end of Edmondson. They gave Edmundson his qualifying offer so it'll be interesting. Would be great for depth because it doesn't seem that Schmaltz is an NHL level player at this point but they...

Re: St. Louis Cardinals 2019

I hated the Carpenter extension as soon as I saw it. He basically had 3 great months last year sandwiched by 3 horrible months

All this being said though and the reality is they are all of 2 games behind the Cubs

Re: US Open

TV coverage/air time was excellent. FOX's HD graphics are subpar however. Grainy looking, and slow graphically. They are behind others like ESPN/ABC, and CBS technologically. I didn't like most of the commentation though. The tv guys were out of sync and didn't play off of each other that well. Giv...

US Open

This is literally a matter of who is going to choke the least. Nobody can hit a fairway or green and god forbid making a birdie

Re: 2019 Stanley Cup Final: Bruins vs. Blues

Legacy question; who on this team just ensured their number will hang in the rafters?

I think Pietrangelo is a for sure. Tarasenko if he stays in St Louis for another 5 years goes up as well. The interesting one to me is Steen. He doesn’t have gaudy numbers but was the heart of this team for so long.

Unbelievable stretch there. Schenn off the post followed by seemingly 10 years of play with no stoppage

Re: 2019 Stanley Cup Final: Bruins vs. Blues

That Nordstrom hit earned Sundqvist a suspension buts let’s pretend that the NHL doesn’t want Boston to win.

And if Chara is going to grab Maroons face then I would take that as permission to hit him in the jaw

Re: 2019 Stanley Cup Final: Bruins vs. Blues

Season ticket holders had access for an hour and half before the general public was available. Everywhere is packed in St Louis. Ballpark village is a zoo, Enerprise sold out, it appears Busch very busy as well. On the Illinois side at a bar and it is packed too. These games have been breaking all k...

Re: 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup Thread

The US really struggled today. Only managed 1 touchdown and 2 field goals. Solid defense though saved them in their 13-0 win
