What’s your thoughts on baseball and football switching this school year. It may feel weird but would give a tier one sport a chance.

Strong article. One thing not mentioned is the advancement of technology and availability to watch everything without being there. You miss the experience but most don’t care.

Re: ‘20 MI

I don’t believe there are any stand out teams. I will say Pekin at the top. Perhaps Washington second.

I just hope for a season. Heck, I’m not sure basketball will happen. Perhaps I’m being to negative.

Re: Mid-Illini 2019-20

Well 'great season' is in the eyes of the beholder! :) I agree, it was an interesting season in that four teams throughout the season were vying for the title. And there were some upsets and tight games between the top teams and lower teams. But 'great' as far as talent and quality teams was not a ...

I hope Peoria gets the new contract. Better area with hotels, food and activities. Speaking of activities, the Civic Center has more room for kid activities that make the experience more enjoyable. I think Champaign would be a mistake.

Re: Mid-Illini 2019-20

Morton got blitzed by Lincoln (35 point loss) and Washington, though playing well, lost to Notre Dame. Metamora only MI team left! Yet they haven’t played a game yet. I thought it was a great season. You never knew what was going to happen each Mid-Illini game. It’s been a long time that any team c...

Re: Mid-Illini 2019-20

Metamora has Pekin and Washington next weekend Two big games and two must wins. Should be interesting. To me, both games are a toss up. Pekin handles Metamora easily with 20 point win to get revenge for December loss to the Birds. Metamora also lost one of their top players for tonights game agains...

Exactly. The coach requested it. Morton is dangerous with the threes but with the curtain open it changes the depth perception they’re used to. That help Washington considerably.

Said it last year and I’ll say it again. I don’t know why coaches don’t ask the officials to leave the curtain open the second half of a Morton game. It makes a huge difference how the game is played out.

Disregard, I didn’t know Metamora played last night. There should be a 3 way tie. After tonight, the gap should be closed after the Washington/Morton game.

Re: Mid-Illini 2019-20

Metamora should’ve had the officials open the curtain in the second half like last year. I think the result would’ve been different.

Hope Washington does it. Metamora won a share of the conference title because of that.

Congrats to the Pekin freshman team. They went 8-1 and 7-0 in MI, outscoring MI teams 314-92. Morton freshman were the closest game 20-12. The freshies beat Sterling 36-12 and lost to Rochelle 30-20. Hopefully this group of players can keep developing, although not sure where Pekin will be playing ...

Should've been a good game since they both play on the same type of playing field.

Wish we could've played Peoria on a flat turf field. Would've been fun to watch.

Enjoy the ride down south and good luck.

Time for basketball. TOC baby.
