Re: 2020-21 DI Hoops Coaching Carousel
The Iowa State AD is on the Selection Committee, which is a major reason why I think Drake is in. If he wants DeVries, he wants to hire him off an NCAA bid, and they will have at least one major conference voice in the room pushing them. Keep in mind, DeVries also probably comes with his son-a top 1...

Re: BU recruiting 2021
While looking at D2 rankings, Lubbock Christian is now NCAA DII (first eligible NCAA year was 2016) and ranked #7 (17-1) this year in D2.

Thanks for getting this together again, Mike. After some down years, I expect to challenge this year.

Well, for what it's worth I believe Lou Griffith is also going to have another year. Averaging 8.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 20.6 minutes for D2 #15 St. Thomas Aquinas (13-1). Shooting 42.3% overall and 39.4% from 3, and 87.5% on FTs. I believe he has already graduated from the school.

News stories out of Iowa late today seem to indicate it's the end of the road for Steve Prohm, barring a miracle.

Re: Opponents thread
It won't become precedent because every team normally plays the maximum number of games. It's only possible this year largely because so many games were cancelled. There are limits on the total # of games teams can play during the season, and those are always maxed out.

Re: BU recruiting 2021
I'm guessing he's looking to go the P5 route - but this guy is from Madison, WI. Would be absolutely perfect for Bradley (and many other MVC level teams). https://twitter.com/GoodmanHoops/status/1369004263020576770?s=20 How does a guy from Madison metro area get so overlooked that he winds up at a ...

Re: 2020-21 DI Hoops Coaching Carousel
One name that might be involved at EIU is Mark Slessinger, who followed Pasternack at New Orleans. He's an Aurora native. He's had a couple down years, but that is a tough job. They aren't really funding the program (this was a school that actually announced they were going DIII and started the proc...

Some names from the past:
Niko was Mountain West COY with Colorado State.
Joe Pasternack was a name that was floated with the Bradley opening in 2015 was Big West COY at UCSB. Pasternack is 85-33 in 4 years with the Gauchos and probably will be moving up to a bigger job very soon - maybe New Mexico?

Re: Lansing out at Indiana St
If they wanted a bunch of 5th-9th place finishes, they could have just kept Lansing. I bet you he's a much better coach now then when he was at BU. Over the last 3 seasons he is 21-21 in the conference with an average finish of 5.33th place. No he isn't, as pointed out here. Davis is terrible. He i...

Some strong hints that LaRavia is leaving if Lansing was indeed done. So, I'd hope we've already reached out to him.

Re: BU recruiting 2021
Curry was kind of a surprise and a late bloomer. Most of his offers were to SoCon schools, and his only P5 offer was VT (his father's school). In his first collegiate game he coughed the ball up 13 times. But, he also averaged over 20 points his frosh year.

Re: Lansing out at Indiana St
Not that it would necessarily apply here - but this is the single biggest reason why the NCAA needs to go to 96 teams immediately (it should have years ago). If coaches are going to get fired - for winning - just because they don't make the NCAA, quite simply more coaches need the opportunity to get...

That’s the move. You fire a guy. Increase the budget by a ton. Or lessen recruiting/academic standards.

"NET is going to be a garbage stat this year" - we'll see if this happens in the matter of 7 days. I don't think it's been terrible, unless it directly places everyone on a corresponding seedline. It's only because they can't understand how so many teams with names like UCSB and Winthrop ...

Tony Jasick out at Jacksonville after 7 years. Never got anything going with the Dolphins, but his second team did finish tied for 2nd in the A-Sun. He previously did a good job of getting IPFW going. While he was only 52-47 in 3 years in Ft. Wayne, his last team was 25-11 and the program he left be...
