Re: Lavar pulls LiAngelo out of UCLA

No way Ball has the capital to start a league properly when I don't think they are manufacturing and shipping shoes yet even. This would be like trying to make the NBA by playing in the And1 mixtape tour. If The Basketball Tournament of washed up and gimpy has beens can nab a $1M (and now $2M) purs...

Re: NFL 2017 General thread

I totally get why the call is getting the attention there, eye-rolling emoji boy. It is by far the more important issue. I just feel that between Roethlisberger's probable rapes, genuinely dirty play on the field, and some of the less-than-stellar personalities the Steelers have had on their team o...

Re: NFL 2017 General thread

The Steelers are once again making out like bandits in the PR department. The blame for the dirty games has always been put on the Bengals and now when they inexplicably imitated the hit on Burfict for a TD celebration, all anyone is talking about is the catch rule... Gee, I wonder why more people ...

Re: NFL 2017 General thread

Anyone on the Texans that saw Savage seize and then let him back into the game deserves to be fired. I don't blame the doctors so much as they likely don't get access to the footage, but his team mates and coaches definitely knew. It is a game. Isn't there an independent "spotter" who is supposed t...

Re: 2017 College Football General season thread

UCF maybe squeaks in at #4? Not a chance. With the committee valuing wins they seem to fall way short as their best victories have been over Memphis and South Florida. To their credit they did schedule both Big Ten and ACC teams non-conference. Unfortunately the Big Ten team was a roadkill Maryland...

Re: Dunlap vs Chicago Phillips 5A Championship

Dunlap has no chance in this game. Zilch, Zero. Chance is slim and none, and Slim left town. Dunlap is maybe a third or fourth place team in the conference. They will be challenged by a hot Morton team. On the road at Washington will be a game they can't win. The road to a conference title will be ...

Re: Washington vs Richwoods Round 3

Great prep rally show tonight. Both coaches and players at the same time, classic. If you get a chance before it’s edited, watch prep rally online during the blackout commercials. You get to see what goes on during the commercials and Coach Crouch has a great one liner. I always thought the intervi...

Re: Runner of the Year?

I would add Breitbach from PND to the girls finalists. I would say Petersen for ROY (but it might be biased :D ) The guys are hard. Gilbert had a great state series and state meet but was ordinary most of the season. Skaggs was really good during the season and didn't have a great state series or st...

Re: Hillcrest vs Dunlap Round 3

OK.. going to be Dunlap at home vs Hillcrest. Hillcrest will come into this game with a full head of steam and playing really strong. Dunlap should not take this team for granted. As long as Dunlap get's by this team I see Dunlap in the Championship game. Dunlap hasn't taken anyone for granted this...

Re: Hey Dunlap fans ....

The game was pretty physical and started getting chippy early. The officials did little to nothing to try and curb it early in the game. Once it boiled over, there was no stopping it. Rich Central seems like a team that plays on emotion a lot. First Dunlap offensive play, runner tackled for a loss, ...

Re: Jimmy Garoppolo

Just because the Pats moved him, doesn't mean he can't play. He would be offered starter money in the off season, and the Pats won't tie up that much salary cap in their back up. So move him or lose him were their options. I would be more concerned if Jimmy was willing to stay with the Pats for bac...

Re: Jimmy Garoppolo

Good deal for the 49ers. With a QB reach draft class, their high first round pick will be very valuable. Plus, they already have another second round pick. Seems like the Pats waited too long as I thought they had better offers in the off season. And no one really knows how good Jimmy G is. Still a...

Re: 2017-2018 Mid-Illini All Sports Standings

I disagree. Good shot, no doubt. Hands down, I don't think it will be a run away. Don't forget they score -0- points for Wrestling. As we did last year, and still won. Basketball on both sides should be improved. In the spring, I would say every sport is as good as last year (maybe tennis takes a s...

Edwards is afraid to throw a strike to Yu Darvish? Either you are a big time playoff pitcher or you're not. He isn't. He should not be on the roster come next year.

Re: Chicago Cubs 2017

I trust Lackey more than Duensing. Frankly it was amazing Duensing pitched as long as he did. Wade Davis is the superior option to start that inning. Give Lackey the 6th inning is the obvious solution. That way you don't get to the 8th having burned both Edwards and Strop. The fact that Lackey's na...

Notice that the standards are based on the average 16th place finish at the state meet the previous three years. Given a small sample size (only three years), you will have some years with wild fluctuations when a fast year either enters or departs. Weather obviously effects the results here as well...

Re: Chicago Cubs 2017

Edwards Jr. should not be on this team next year. He has little control and looks scared on the mound in pressure situations. The Kyle Schwarber experiment has failed while we are at. Trade him to an AL team for whatever they might offer. What, trade the best pure hitter in baseball? Schwarber is l...
