Re: Braves at Salukis

They definitely have a pattern of easing up & doing some heat check shots with leads. Very fortunate to have hung on, but a huge win regardless.

Re: Braves at Salukis

Late, I say pretty much never sliding over to help on the weak side. 15 years of teams pretty much having their way in terms of getting points at the rim (except for 2006!!!), and now 4 years of stats showing that opponents are suddenly and mysteriously having more trouble scoring at the rim. On th...

Re: Braves at Salukis

Outside of his sometimes late help defense, i dont think anyone is really hating on that part of Bar's game... That said, the game has been over for 5 hours. We won, let it GO. Save it for Wednesday...I am more than certain this debate will come up again  Late, I say pretty much never sliding ...

Re: The Valley

UNI’s 5 starters all played over 40 minutes in tonight’s game against Loyola. Green and Berhow played all 45 minutes...Haldeman and Brown played 42...and Phyfe played 41. Their bench gave them nothing. 4 minutes from Dahl, 3 minutes from Pickford and Timmons. That’s it. That isn’t gonna work in STL...

Re: Braves at Salukis

.... and Dlo....Eli....Ari......Nate.......Bar has been huge but the team got better too.....!!!! It’s not all on Bar, but if you think the team has been in the top 20% in the country on 2 point defense, in spite of the guy playing the 5, then that’s a bit crazy. I’m just saying he’s a primary cont...

Re: The Valley

Like ER3 said, just concerned about getting into the 2/3 game. Going to be a tough run, but with Childs back and playing in top form right away, I don’t hate our chances with anyone. I much prefer UNI on day 3. Creighton didn’t become Creighton by running over the Valley in January and February. The...

Re: The Valley

If I recall, this was the Drake team that had LaVasseur (sp?) that took a big lead on Bradley in the 7/10 game before Bradley rebounded, won that game, and then beat Creighton the next day in STL --- still to this day the only 1st day team to make the Semifinals. (Should have been another in Gregg'...

Re: Braves at Salukis

I’ve been following Bradley for a long time, and it seems about every big catches some heat. Bar seems like the most divisive one we’ve ever had, but I side with you. He’s helped the program break through a lot more than he generally seems to be given credit for. This. A million times this. POB is ...

Re: Braves at Salukis

Really, one of those blocks wasn't a block that had any impact. He was the second defender and got s hand on the shot after somebody else did the real defending. Koch was terrible today I guess what does Koch have to do to have a ‘good’ game? If 9 and 11 today with 2 blocks isn’t good, what is? If ...

Re: The Valley

OT but I figure this is the best place to put it. With the Hoosier Daddies looking to possibly go oh-fer in the Valley this year, my family was trying to remember the last time a Valley team did this. Anyone have that stat? We all came up empty at dinner. Nobody has done it since Drake managed to d...

Bad karma for UNI.

They can’t afford to pay the coach and some random luckbox that hits a half court heave.

Re: Bravos-Trees II

I alluded to this in an earlier game thread about how we've not really replaced DLO from a defensive standpoint. The one thing this team really lacks is a backcourt lock-down defender. Danya does a good job yet both him and DB are having to guard bigger players. We are a small team in the back cour...

Re: Bravos-Trees II

Nate Kennell had a very good game defensively. His progression on that side of things is noteworthy. 37 minutes too. Childs showed signs of what kind of player he could be both year 1 and 2, but then he’d also have stretches where he floated around and made himself too much of a non factor. End of l...

We play on the other side of the bracket of UNI with a bye and we can win it again. The team if anything will out hustle any team in The Valley. The Valley Tournament format favors BU because our guys are in great shape and play fantastic D. If everyone gets back and healthy, you may be right. Havi...

Re: 2020 BU recruiting and beyond

I like the fact that he is a 6-6 guard that can shoot. The video shows he can score from all over because of his size plus he has a jump shot. Not concerned at all about his weight because our trainers have put muscle on everyone of our players. JJ Anderson came in as a slender kid that could score...

Re: Ja'Shon Henry's Progression

Boya is closing the gap, but it’s not always a linear progression like it has been with Henry. Boya is somewhat matchup dependent. Massive improvements from where he was coming off the injury last year, though. As far as minutes, we have a lot of guys getting 30+ a ton, and that’s not really a great...

As a fan and more so a father this gutted me. Any time a child loses a parent it is tragic. When a parent loses a child, even more tragic. When both happen, you just don’t have the words. Still doesn’t seem real. Yeah, man, it’s just so brutal that a daughter that was so obviously eager and natural...
