Re: Lots has been written about players taking the next step. What do you want to see Wardle improve on?

Practice? we talkin bout practice? I don't need to see what happens in practice, nor do you. What counts is when the lights go on at Carver...and when the lights went on there wasn't a worse player on the floor than Jayden Hodgson....you cant be worse than a 0 stat line game after game...go check i...

Re: Lots has been written about players taking the next step. What do you want to see Wardle improve on?

The pros: - Wardle has shown an absolute commitment to building the program slowly and steadily, without any regard to his overall W-L record. Yes, some programs have shown it can be done either way, but the approach he has taken has the best chance of holding up over time for our program. At least ...

Good luck to Jayden. He definitely has talent. I still don’t really understand what happened with him, but hopefully he doesn’t play timid there.

Re: Off Season Improvements

People can put more weight on whatever they want. To say the first 3/4 holds more weight isn’t more or less true than saying the last 1/4 holds more weight. It’s all in how you want to look at it, spin it. If we are trying to quantify the success of a season, a conference tournament title and an NC...

Re: Off Season Improvements

I just think it's funny how a coach can just forget how to coach for one month. I get that being a fan is a roller coaster of emotions, but the helter-skelter stuff is bonkers. Over the past year, we had guys applauding last year's contract extension, saying stuff like the "program's in good hands"...

Re: 2018-19 DI Hoops Coaching Carousel

I believe Oats when he says it. I don’t believe Mullins, partly because he sounded the least committed to it on that hilarious clip. Mostly because his college career consisted of his team passing it around for 25 seconds and then giving it to Tatum.

Wow. Turned down 17.8M over 8 years guaranteed if true.

Interesting choice that most would not make, but good for him and good for the MVC.

Re: Off Season Improvements

It took a long time to figure out the rotation that ultimately worked so well. I hope the coaches are introspective about that, and not letting the great success in February and March take away from the lessons of December and January.

Re: Off Season Improvements

I think I want Childs shooting 4 or 5 3s a game now. Maybe more. Brown shot 5 3’s a game this year. Last player to shoot 5 3’s a game previous was Grier. I think he has to be shooting up around 40% to shoot that often. I think he needs to get himself into the low 30’s to shoot as often as he did th...

Re: Off Season Improvements

Childs shot 50% from the 3-point line over the last 11 games of the season. I think he found the the formula as to when to take the three. I hope he continues to push the limit a little more next season... 3 shots per game would seem to be the right number. He shot 8 3’s in those last 11 games, wel...

Re: Off Season Improvements

Don’t think so..... Then he's not too bright, is he? Why is that? He shot worse this past season than his freshman season AFTER working on it during the offseason. I’m with you on this one, at least for the most part, Shaun. He probably needed to shoot some, and he made some big ones too, but...

A grad transfer or JUCO would be ideal, but I’d also be fine with a good sit out guy too. Really.....that’s surprising? I think losing 3 pretty integral parts would “ demand “ replacing at LEAST 2 with at minimum equal or better yet better players especially considering we were a 5 th place MVC tea...

Yes. Yes. Yes. Perfect fit for this team. A PG with the athleticism to beat people off the dribble. Will make us much harder to defend...should help create more open looks for Nate/DB and should give us a much better option when running end of the shot clock isolation sets. Love it...now let’s add ...

Exciting stuff. Walt was underappreciated here IMO, but I also know he has continued to work and has gotten better. https://twitter.com/GoodmanHoops/status/1111005057158397953 So true. They definitely are not lacking for resources at Alabama. I’m sure Buffalo couldn’t write a buyout that would concern them. You can win there, too. You just aren’t dealing with the most realistic fan base, to put it mildly. They a...

What’s Moser getting paid at this point? Does anyone know? I knew Oats a bit from way back in the playing days and from some summer camps, etc. Not like we were ever tight or anything. Should be an outlier year for the conference as a whole. Agree on expansion. Until proven otherwise, I assume it is a fun rhetorical exercise for us. I don’t see us changing the composition of the conference until events around them demand they do so. Again.

I haven't heard a word about the D.R. incident since BW and DR Reynolds spoke. One of the benefits of not watching or following social media
The university also did a successful job of squashing it by handling it right. Don’t see it being an issue going forward.
