Re: BU's Financial Results ...bumbling and troubling

Hockey is really expensive. There’s a ton more good players in Illinois and Missouri than ever before, so there is a real growth opportunity, but you still would have to recruit wide. Travel for games would be expensive too. If you’re a school that is financially sound and willing to pursue a long t...

Re: In Depth Game Preview: BU vs. IUPUI

Kingsby has stepped right in and done well both games imo. Especially when you consider he hasn’t played in a while, it’s looking to me like he is going to be a player teams will need to account for. When Eli is dialed in and attacking, he’s a problem for most post defenders. More importantly, sad t...

My response wasn’t towards you or any individual specifically. It’s a long season, we got caught on this one, and deserved the result we got.

Re: Bradley-St Joe’s

Well, good to see this board is already in mid season form. Hope the team accepts they got beat and doesn’t scapegoat. If we went back over the years to every thread on every road game we have ever played, I suspect you will find at least a few comments on how unfair and terrible the officiating was...

Re: Bradley-St Joe’s

Won boards, won turnovers, shot a decent clip at 3. But fouled like crazy, and you can quibble about some calls, but the fact of it was that St. Joes was aggressive and drawing fouls. On the other side, we again seem quite happy to have Childs out there shooting 17 footers and 3’s, because he makes ...

Re: Bradley-St Joe’s

Daly wasn’t doing anything complicated, but he was challenging us off the drive repeatedly and the defense wasn’t up to the challenge today. Childs wasn’t very good either, so that’s a bad combo for a road game.

Hope to fill the last ride with a 6-4 or bigger shooting guard. I like the 2 new recruits and trust the staff on continuing to bring in good players. Just to continue on a bit more, I lived in the Auburn area for a while. It’s not a big town. The Montgomery market will be like a war zone. I suspect the football ads will be like nuclear proliferation in the Cold War... Bradley has no such concerns. This will be a big win for basketball schools in...

Re: Who benefits the most from player endorsements?

I agree with everything JMM28 says on this topic. As an endorsement hypothetical, what would work better: A Portillo’s ad by Krutwig or an Avanti’s ad by Childs? Your answer to that is your answer to who this would favor. Bradley would be fine. My only concern, and it’s not a minor one, is that the ...

If Kansas can afford Snoop Dog and a cadre of pole dancers for their first practice, I think the sanctity of college sports will stay intact if athletes get some endorsement deals.

Agree. Someone needs to take grandpa's phone and car keys away from him. Amen. The Boogieman Tactic is alive and well. Mark my word - when this legislation gets passed you will see very few, if any, changes to the current D1 college sports landscape. Not to competitive balance, not to the future of...

Koch Bar has been a foundational piece of this Bradley renaissance. He should be celebrated. Agreed. He had some clear areas he lags behind, but there are things he does well that Bradley historically hasn’t had very often. He gets dumped on entirely too much. I think fans tend to underestimate how...

Re: Lots has been written about players taking the next step. What do you want to see Wardle improve on?

The pros: - Wardle has shown an absolute commitment to building the program slowly and steadily, without any regard to his overall W-L record. Yes, some programs have shown it can be done either way, but the approach he has taken has the best chance of holding up over time for our program. At least ...
