2019 Season

I see Washington has Sycamore scheduled for week 1 (that’s a tough opener) but nobody for Wk 2. Anyone have any insight on possibilities? A recent check on IHSA, had only 2 teams in 5a/6a with openings for wk 2. Calumet City and Norridge.

Re: College Football Week 3

The Illini do not have true speed at WR. They are going to struggle all season no matter who they play. The receivers cannot get separation early in the routes and the OL is not good enough to keep a 4 sec pocket for checkdowns. Running game is decent but if we can’t go vertically, it’s going to be ...

Re: Dunlap@Washington

I hope it doesn’t come down to special teams play. Especially, kickoffs. The few times we didn’t get a touchback, I’ve been unimpressed with Washington’s kick off coverage. It’s not good.

Guessing they will have to take out the first row of parking along the fence. If so, that will mean even less parking once the 12th Man auctioned parking spots are coned off.

Mid Illini Preview

Summer workouts are underway and I know many of us are ready for it to be late August and ready for the season. What does your MI team look like for the upcoming season? Washington-several returning starters from a 5A final 4 team. The OL returns 4 starters. Return Starters QB Fisher, RB Walter, RB ...

With the high expectations of the upcoming season, it would’ve been nice to have it finally done. It’s been a long drawn out saga.

Re: Game scores and records

Great comeback by the Panthers in the 4th to send it into overtime. Washington finally plays a team that fouls as much as them and they shoot 25% from the line. It was woeful.

Re: Pekin Insurance Holiday Tournament 2017

Just my opinion, but this is the worst level of talent in the PHT in years. Once you get past the kid from Normal West, there’s not much else. The night was topped off by a 24 pt effort from Washington. They scored 6 pts in the second half.

Re: Babcook Field

I've heard they plan to use the same concrete company for both the band room addition and the bleachers. Get both projects up and running together while that company is on site. Initially, I thought there was going to be some donated labor for part of the bleachers renovations. I'm not sure where th...

You are assuming the kids hated Brown. Not sure either had much say in what went down with the move.

Re: 2017 ToC

6-9, 6-7, 6-6 and you won’t rebound. Sheez boys. Fouling and not rebounding, bad combination. When was the last time my Panthers started 0-3? There’s a good chance it will be 0-4. We’ve been spoiled over the years. There are kids starting or getting significant playing time that would’ve never seen ...

Re: 2017 ToC

If I’m the rest of the MI conference, I’m licking my chops. This Washington team is not very good right now. No leadership, no true point guard, shooting is poor (except Ware), no defense, basketball IQ is not very high compared to past teams. On the blocks, they have a 6-9 monster w/ decent skills a...

Re: Dunlap vs Chicago Phillips 5A Championship

Dunlap has a group of kids that developed into great athletes. The kids grew physically and the coaches did a great job improving their skills and physical strength. They simply out worked the rest of the MI conference teams this off season and during the season. Nobody expected them to be this good...

Re: Scores week 6??

Dunlap = bigger, faster, stronger, tougher
Washington = smaller, slower, weaker, softer

Classic but whooping. Panthers had better find an offensive identity or it's gonna end up a 5-4 season. The over hype has caught up.

From what I was told, Mt.Zion used a JV squad last night vs Washington Sophs They had several Juniors playing. Is this typical for a 4A school?

Re: Week 3 Washington @ Canton

I just cannot figure out why the Washington offense just cannot keep the engine going for a whole game. There is so much talent and depth in the skilled positions. We were 3rd and long the whole game. I understand Canton was sending the house on most first down situations. We played right into their...

What are thoughts about this game? Pretty confident the Panthers will be itching to clean a few things up this week in practice and will be ready for the Little Giants.

Re: Morris @ Washington

Morris is a solid team. Panthers give up 2 big plays, (kick off return and 80 yd toss). Other than that, Washington defense looked pretty good. Washington had a lot of yards passing. Penalties killed us tonight. The possession with 1st and goal inside the 5 and not scoring, and all the strange thing...

Anyone know much about MS Bulldogs? I know they made the playoffs last season while playing a fairly weak schedule. I know what the Panthers bring to the table. Couple years ago went there in 5A playoffs expecting to roll but were out played and looked pretty bad in a loss.

It's been a while since the Panthers have had this many weapons on the offensive side of the ball. If the defense steps up, this could be a fun season.
