Re: Pat Ryan’s choice

It's interesting to compare the last three years of Helmick's to Ryan's. Helmick 10-1, 8-2 and 4-5. Ryan, 4-5, 8-2 and 4-5. As I said earlier, there is no doubt in my mind that Pat Ryan is the greatest high school football coach ever from the Peoria area. To accomplish what Ryan did and over the le...

Re: Pat Ryan’s choice

Ok, the torch wasn't passed from Helmick to PR there were some dark years in between. How do I know this? I was QB Helmick's last year and "dark year one". It wasn't pleasant especially being a little brother of a guy who was on the 75 team. This is exactly why the choice should be in PR's possessi...

.The board of education for the CPS announced that the CPL schools will be allowed to practice while the strike is on. Ihsa concurs as long as all of their guidelines are met. They now have till Friday afternoon.

Re: 2019 Pairings Night Thread

.The Ihsa has said if the strike is settled Wednesday at a reasonable time (I assume so kids can still practice.) it's a go. If not one other fallout if the strike continues is that if the higher seed gets the forfeit they retain home field for the second round. Picture your team being the lower see...

Congrats to my alma mater. Pekin for hanging in there, overcoming an 0-3 start to win the Mid-Illini Chatham is for real, they are better than there '98 team that went 14-0 and were state champs Rochester is good, but Chatham is real good .South 6A bracket loaded. ESL will be the #1 seed. Both Chat...

Re: Peaking at the right time?!

I think Morton would like to replay a couple of games from earlier this season but that’s water under the bridge. The Potters do seem to be peaking at the right time. Not just Seth but the whole team. Good luck in the playoffs! :td https://www.pjstar.com/sports/20191025/cleve-in-eve-mortons-glatz-n...

Re: Two-time state QB transferring to Chatham Glenwood

.That is correct in all sports. Many thought although never really proven it was football driven. In the past both Edwardsville and Belleville (West) besides their regular season conference game would end up playing the Flyers in the postseason although the Tigers are 2-1 and the Maroons 1-1 (a forf...

Re: Two-time state QB transferring to Chatham Glenwood

.The Flyers as is usually the case are loaded this season. One of the better teams in the the entire state regardless of class size. With an enrollment of 1262.00 and no longer able to petition up they are on the bubble between class 5A and 6A. The preseason Associated Press top ten poll among the e...

WCHS school board will consider a proposal from the 12th man for sale of season tickets for home football games. The proposal mentions that other schools have a season ticket program. Which ones? https://v3.boardbook.org/Public/PublicItemDownload.aspx?ik=44977218 .SHG has been doing one since the n...

And now SHG Is getting a Maroa-Forsyth player, though this player is only a junior:

.Don't forget his brother Madixx who will be a freshman. Quite an athlete in multiple sports. It's been a long sixteen years.

.Showing interest in 5A this season. :cycani A preface first before it's mentioned. Yes I know it's computer generated and nuts and bolts don't play on the gridiron. Anyway. I see calpreps sneak peak (very early) projection has Metamora ranked #10 and Morton #16 in that class. (the list is not quite...

Re: IHSA Districts Passes

.I can understand that. Especially if they end up in Class 6A. The SWC weren't stupid how they cased this decision. All of the schools in the conference will not be able to petition up in the sports they offer.
