Re: RenCol + Carver > 2?

2000 students. Lol. Well, at least they would take up 2000 of the worst seats in the building. Because you know, we can complain about students not showing up when the seats they are offered are garbage. I get that the tickets are a buck, but still, why would a student want to go to a game and sit ...

Re: RenCol + Carver > 2?

Honest question, and this is not directed toward anyone in particular: I see the terms "stale" "sterile" "generic" etc when we discuss RC. What makes an arena not one of those things? I have never really had the issues with RC that others have. . .I get it's just an arena. It was built for entirely...

Re: RenCol + Carver > 2?

For conference games at Carver Arena, Bradley needs more rivalries than just Illinois State to help boost interest. I was OK with bringing Loyola and Valpo into the MVC because they are schools that Bradley can potentially develop into regional rivalries. I think we already see this happening with ...

Re: Robertson Resurrection?

It would be nice if Blickenstaff could help possibly renovate the Madison Theatre also. There were a lot of shows at The Madison that drew a lot of people downtown in the 90's. Nobody seems to want to buy that property and it is a waste that something isn't being done to renovate it. Champaign reno...

Re: Attendance

10 wins in a row at home. The claims that Bradley will never draw over 7k regularly again are preposterous. How so? Your numbers don't make that point and certainly don't back up your statement. In fact, the numbers at the end of last season (with a hot winning team) are lower than the previous sea...

Blickenstaff is on board to help renovate the Armory. Talks of putting an athletic facility in it. Can they fit 6500 seats in it? :?:

Re: Bradley-Maryville: The Return of Pitt

Why do we schedule games like this? I mean....could we not find one Div 1 team to come play at BU? I don't get it. BU 100 Maryville 54 Go BU! It’s a combination of things. 1 it’s better than playing a 300+ NET team. 2 these last two games are coming off the toughest stretch in the noncon- Kansas St...

Re: The Valley

I did not know that tribe. To answer your question then I'd like to see Wardle use his Marquette connections to help renew that old time rivalry (home and home or 2 for 1) and get Reynolds involved in trying to get a road game (or 2 for 1) with Indiana. I assume the Brown/Hardaway connection helped...

Re: The Valley

Non conference games don't move the needle on attendance. Never have, never will. Stop equating the strength of the opponent to the overall draw for the season. It's about the MVC season. That's where the attendance is made or not. This is an excellent point. Take out the outliers - Michigan, Michi...

People need to get out more. Do they think parking is easy and they never have to walk at other arenas and stadiums across the country?

Re: Game Introduction

Something I noticed recently also is the band is playing less than in the past. It used to be a good chunk of the timeouts would be the band playing. Now they may get 1 song at best every timeout if that. The "halftime entertainment" covers most of halftime and the band plays like 2 maybe 3 songs. ...

Re: Game Introduction

Two things can be true. . .I might be the only one, but I think Peoria/Bradley could actually sustain 11K and even fill a 15-17.5K arena with sustained, relevant winning at a national level. But I also am one of the biggest proponents of playing the SEMO's, Chicago State's, and the like at RC. The ...

Re: Game Introduction

I must ask the question why? Why do we need 7k or more in the RC? If the occasional #1 team in the nation is all good with 15 straight seasons of sellouts in a 6k seat venue, why the need for 7k here? FWIW I've been to Bradley games all over the country, in 9 MVC cities, both of the last 2 NCAA tou...

That's some heavy stuff there. Im a little confused because well over a dozen season ticket holders in one section whopping and hollering, including a bunch of kids mixed amongst a bunch of stuffy blue hairs, seems to indicate lower bowl. Yet Jubby suggests he will be relegated to eating dip and do...

Re: Game Introduction

Moving games to Ren Col would immediately make it the toughest place to play in the MVC for a road team. Especially if the game atmosphere is done right. And give BU the opportunity to save hundreds of thousands of dollars in rent, parking, etc which could then, hypothetically, be diverted to maybe...

Re: Bradley @ Memphis

I feel for Darrell. I’m sure he put a lot of pressure on himself for tonight’s game - back home, senior year, vs. Penny. Tough night for him but hopefully he uses it to come back and finish his senior year strong and be a key cog in this team going back to the NCAA.
