Re: Thoughts on Football being moved to the Spring
If i understand it correctly, the Spring football season starts in Feb???? a little confused, does it mean practice starts in Feb or the games start in Feb? Regardless, this has got to be the stupidest thing ever regarding HS football...How many fans are going to brave Feb weather to see a football ...

Re: The New Metamora Varsity Head Football Coach:
Who decides what the qualifications are to be a head coach in Illinois? Individual school boards? Coaching staffs? Would it be true for all the sports in H.S., or just some hand-picked for whatever reason? Just asking.
Update...another post clarified.

Re: The New Metamora Varsity Head Football Coach:
Saw a tweet that Malone will be renamed Pat Ryan Stadium. Don’t know the history of the Malone name but will Malone be replaced all together or will it be Malone Field at Pat Ryan Stadium? Just wondering. The story i was told many years ago was that the football field and some adjacent land was own...

Re: The New Metamora Varsity Head Football Coach:
Concerning the hire; if most Redbird fans on the forum felt that the offense under Ryan had become stale and predictable, why would they hire the DC. Really makes little difference to me. Just asking the question. The obvious reason is that the fans have no voice in the matter. Personally, the many...

Re: The New Metamora Varsity Head Football Coach:
Grebner was my second choice, behind Curt Ryan. Curt would bring more excitement to the game, which is what is needed to keep fans coming IMO. Redbird football has become boring, like a lot of programs...lots of reasons for that, not necessarily the coaches fault either... One program that is always...

Re: Pat Ryan’s choice
According to a realiable source, Curt Ryan has officially put his application in for the head coach job. Realizing you always need talent to make a good team, Curt will nonetheless make it exciting to watch. Guess you dont have to be a teacher to get the job?

Re: Pat Ryan’s choice
It's been rumored that Grebner is and has been groomed to take over. I think Pat will go with his gut. Pat never had any head coaching experience before landing the Metamora job himself ... and look how that turned out! So does Pat have the final say? Im guessing no, but does anyone know? Who decid...

Nate's 7 3's give him 219 for his career: 1. Crouch 262 2. Zobrist 233 3. Warren 225 4. Gilbert 223 5. Kennell 219 6. Brown 205 Nate is averaging 2.77 3s per game this year. If he continues at that pace he will be in second place behind Crouch at the end of the regular season. If Bradley wins the M...

Me and wife, plus 2 friends will be attending the game regardless of weather. Might add, will be our first game in several years. Used to be season ticket holders but just got tired of losing. Watched every home game of Nates highschool career, vaguely remember him scoring something like 53 points i...

I do not post about teams I coach for......but after having a few celebrating cool ones and watching with mason OU win Bedlam (he goes to OU), what the heck It was a pleasant surprise to read on the PJ-Star forum positive comments about Rochester, they are usually negative. All week we have read/he...

Mid Ilinin way down this year as usual powerhouse washington gets beat. As usual, IHSA Playoff scores are not on their site....What would it take for the IHSA to hire someone to post scores soon after the games, Duh.

Im mostly a lurker on here regarding basketball as im mainly a football fan. But I usually follow most H.S. posts on all sports. I dont personally know "Ging", but from reading his posts for years on here, I believe he is very fair and honest in his opinions. Sometimes he is brutally "...

Re: IHSA Districts Passes
Interest in high school football has been declining for several years, and going to districts may or may not change that one-way or the other. My interest has declined along with a lot of other fans. I will most likely still attend some local games if a good match-up. Almost every school in my area ...
