Re: 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs Round 2: Blues vs. Avalanche

This is the kind of series that you want to watch even when your team isn't playing. Should be a great series.

I think just about everyone can agree with this.
I think as long as it remains restricted to NIL. I just don't think there's any model where the athletes receiving revenues from their sport can make sense.

Re: Josh Whitman extended through 2028

And people complain about NIL and athletes getting money. Hilarious. I kind of think those are 2 different things. How much should the person who is ultimately responsible for $100,000,000 in revenues, 650+ student athletes, hundreds of athletic department employees, and 15 major facilities be paid?

Shocking I tell ya. https://twitter.com/usatoday/status/1524474673605451776?s=21&t=U7WVqikyC9HI0nt8FK00CQ The absence of university logos or markings makes the initial stop seem more valid, but what transpired after the police boarded the bus and spoke to the bus driver would be pretty hard to ...

Re: Valley Departures

The portal has only made it easier for players and schools to exchange information. The game was trending toward transfer chaos even prior to the introduction of the portal (an actual mechanism devised to help manage transfers). So, I think the portal is just the natural extension of an existing tr...

Re: Valley Departures

Guess the doom and gloom of the Power 5 crushing the mid majors via the transfer portal was a bit hysterical. Of course nothing has been crushed, but I wouldn't call it insignificant. None of the 5 1st Team MVC players appear to be returning to their schools with 60% likely leaving via the transfer...

I'm not saying that no college kid never had weed in their bag on the bus on a road trip, but it's incredibly unlikely that a D-I athletic program would be traveling with anything of substance, and certainly not known to the athletic department. It probably still happens that way in certain areas of the South. I have an ethnic last name, and I remember in the early 70's (when I was about 10 years) old my dad told me as we went into Mississippi to just tell people that our last name was "Smith". How many remember this commercial t...

Re: Welcome Goanar Biliew

I know the transfer portal has been discussed at length, but it's so interesting to think of this comment in light of the new reality in college baseketball. In prior years, you saw this acceptance of roles and then people grow into roles over time. Now a coach has to worry much more about minutes ...

Really in the grand scheme of things for this season as long as they finish ahead of Pittsburgh and Cincy in the division I would be mostly content. This roster BLOWS. No team who owns and runs it's own television network should have to start over at this level. This is as bad as the early tanking ...

Opinions- I am guessing we have a few out there. With recruiting most likely finished - Are we a better team heading into 2022-23 than we were in 2021-22? I expect better than 17-14, but I am a total homer. You’d think players like Montgomery, Ekono, and Hickman would progress with a year in the pr...

For sure. And he won't be expected to play a bunch of minutes next season and has three years of eligibility left. Re: A “BracketBuster+“ in the works?

I don't see the WCC happening. One of the big negatives of the Mountain West match-up was that those trips were budget crushers. The trip to San Diego 5 years ago cost a fortune. Correct. The WCC also does not see itself on the same tier as the MVC. I think the A10 makes the most sense geographical...

I'm all for any idea that would potentially bring a quality opponent to Carver Arena. I'm for BU playing really good programs on the road. I wish the MVC would set up games with the WCC. Well someone will figure out the formula and how to make NIL work for a mid-major and within a year the NCAA will change the rules.
