Re: Chicago Bears 2018

Is it true that Osweiler has now beaten the Bears with three different teams - did I hear that right? If so, he is a Bear killer! Three different teams and 4-0 vs Bears. Plus 1-0 vs Illini while at ASU. I can’t stand ya. Illinois beat his Arizona State team in 2011. I am sure yesterday made you for...

Bear defender on the bottom of the screen gets tackled on that fluke 3rd and 11 play yet nothing called.

Re: Chicago Bears 2018

Game totally changed on a ^^ interference call. Meanwhile Dolphin receivers have been blocking while the ball is in the air all day long yet they have not been flagged once. What a joke.

Re: Peoria Stadium - Old Times

I would think it's been some time since Peoria Stadium hosted three games on a weekend. This weekend you have Central on Friday night, Manual early afternoon and Notre Dame at night. Good to see the old girl being used so much. Back in the 60's the stadium would sometimes host four games over a wee...

Re: College Football Week 7

College football certainly is a strange game. Today I saw ISU smoke SIU, 51-3...the same SIU team who put 45 up against Ole Miss. Speaking of Ole Miss, last I checked they were trailing by two scores at Arkansas...who lost to the same Colorado State team that got drilled at home by ISU. Not implying...

Re: Washington @ Metamora

Two great coaches, two outstanding undefeated teams, two fantastic programs, late season showdown, big rivalry and two excellent fan bases. Couldn't ask for more than that :td A historic scamper at Stamper? Most impressive from that night was CIS scoring five student nurses after the game all by hi...

Re: Washington @ Metamora

Cant believe this Board is so quiet on the Birds-Panthers match. Where is Birdwatcher when we need him? Been going downhill ever since he left. Last I heard he was playing 3 musical instruments ,singing to horses, and running for Mayor, and trying to develop a hillbilly accent. BW is a one-man Chuc...

Re: Washington @ Metamora

I get the hoopla over this game, it's Metamora vs Washington and what more, they're both undefeated. But, as far as "Game of the Week" goes, IMHO, I humbly disagree. One team is going to be 9-0 eventually, the other 8-1 and both will host first round playoff games. Washington has been pinned for 9-...

Re: Washington @ Metamora

With only a few days before the big game, can anyone of the Redbird fans tell me when was the last time the Redbirds played a game like this one. I can recall some past playoff games that I attended, but don’t recall one where they are undefeated and conference title and state ranking are on the li...

Re: College Football Week 6

Bad news for the Big XII comes out of Norman, Oklahoma where Mike Stoops has been fired as defensive coordinator. Pretty telling that in Oklahoma’s last two losses the offense scored 45 in each. I am sure that Lincoln Riley did not do this earlier in deference to Stoops brother, Bob, who gave Riley ...

Re: College Football Week 6

Attended WIU-ISU and won a Code Red with the Redbirds win (an annual bet with a sister who attended WIU). I saw a call made that I knew existed by rule but had never seen it called in any game I have seen in person or on TV. ISU ran the ball down the left sideline and one of the pursuing WIU defende...

Re: Washington @ Metamora

Not budging off me preseason pick of Washington +21 or more against the MI. Metamora does have the puncher's chance in that they can throw the ball a little bit. Wish this game was on turf as the team has seemingly played their best games on turf this year.

Re: Week 7 Scores

El Paso-Gridley 44, Flanagan-Cornell/Woodland 0. Game called at halftime because FCW didn't have enough players due to injuries. (They only started with 14 dressed.) Ryne Faulk scored five touchdowns (four runs and a fumble return) for EPG. Saw a similar thing happen a few years back when a CPL tea...

Re: Mid Illini

A great football conference but participation is way down at some schools. The disparity between 6A and 4a unless Canton is 3A (even worse) makes the league a challenge. Great coaches and players but 2800 at Pekin 2400 at Washington may force Canton 740 and East Peoria 1050 out. Not competitive and...

Re: Chicago Cubs 2018

The saddest part about last night was that the offense was so pathetic they had to pull Rizzo out for a pinch runner who does not appear capable of hitting Little League pitching...and it was totally the right move. As for Maddon pulling Lester so early is a legitimate issue. That wasted Happ earlie...

Re: Chicago Cubs 2018

Season on the line and the Cubs score two runs in 22 innings at Wrigley Field. Just pathetic. The pitching was very good and deserved better. Makes the think the Cubs are the mid 80’s Bears where you thought they were primed for multiple championships but it never happened. Lots of changes likely he...

Frustrating as Hendricks did not need to throw a strike and he kept missing his spots.
