Re: Braves at Salukis

Here's a question my friends have been bouncing around yesterday and today: If you were a post player and Darrell Brown has a step on his guy and drove the lane, would you get in the best position for a pass or get in the best position for a rebound/tip in? It looks like BU's post players have that...

Re: Valley Tourney Seed

Also, can we talk about our team finding a way and staring at a 92% chance at finishing top 4 without arguably our best all-around player for most of the league season? 75% to finish top 3. Continue upward on Wednesday with another big home win and we are pretty much a lock for top 3. Really, reall...

Re: 2019-20 DI Hoops Coaching Carousel

Lol, Beilein needs to get out of Dodge. He’s above coaching that circus. I'm not sure whats more humorous in that quote, the fact Beilein felt like guys who made it to the league needed a brush up on fundamentals, or that he actually thought they would listen to that and want to watch extended film...

Re: 2019-20 DI Hoops Coaching Carousel

Beilein spent more than 40 years coaching various levels of college basketball and the transition to the NBA proved difficult. The Athletic’s Joe Vardon and Shams Charania first reported in December that players were not happy with how Beilein coached the team, specifically on the focus on fundamen...

Re: 2020 BU recruiting and beyond

I don't think of either of them as a lock. I guess I'm more optimistic on Nolan at this point because he's bigger and much more athletic than McAdoo...putting up decent, not great, numbers against A10 competition is more impressive than putting up decent numbers in the MAC, IMO. In the one public o...

Re: Braves at Salukis

My brother and I have talked about this numerous times throughout the season. KB puts forth a ton of effort, he brings a lot in terms of defense and rebounding, but he obviously has some limitations offensively. I've been more disenchanted with those who repeatedly decide to pass the ball into thos...

Re: Valley Tourney Seed

So again, looking at the 4-way 7-7 cluster, here is how it stands right now: Most likely scenario (apparently): They all finish at 9-9 and all finish 3-3 in the round robin head to head. It then goes to NET. Indiana State draws the 5 seed. (109 NET) Missouri State draws the 6. (127) Valpo gets the 7...

Re: 2020 BU recruiting and beyond

I don't think coaches should ever pass on guys because they are worried about how they are going to pass minutes around. I feel like thats something a player should be much more concerned about, especially these days when everyone thinks they're the best thing since sliced bread. But coaches, that's...

Re: The Valley

According to the current model, the four team clog at 7-7 will ALL finish at 9-9. Unfortunately according to that model, it will also pit us against the Bears on Fri night in STL. Maybe we are overthinking it, but I think I rank them 2nd of the 4 in who I wouldn't want to face, just behind Drake. Gu...

The only time I had a real problem with our bigs was at home against UNI. That’s a bad matchup. Koch and Ari both got pushed around in that game. Just looked bad to me.

This squad can beat any team in this league if they play up to their potential. I really like this team.
Drake?

Loyola?

Re: 2019-20 DI Hoops Coaching Carousel

He signed a 5 year deal so it really depends on what those terms are.

If he can still be paid by Cleveland AND also go somewhere AND wants to, back to the East coast may draw interest.

He is 67 though. He might be ready to be done too.

Re: Valley Tourney Seed

NET ranking breaks two way ties in the Valley, I think. With Loyola’s win over UNI, I doubt that we will finish ahead of Loyola in NET. Next to zero chance to finish ahead of Loyola in NET unless we run the table, and I'd like to think if that happened, we finish a game up anyway. Again, St Joes ma...

Re: Braves at Salukis

We did play the 2nd half scared but without purpose and with a lack of concentration. I'm taking that the staff told them to continue playing hard but these are college kids. I'm also betting the staff was not going full out let's crush them mode. That type of energy needs to be used during the Val...

Re: Braves at Salukis

Hey, you can't knock him too much. And I don't think I'd call him awkward either. He's quite mobile and adept with the footwork. Hell, if either of our bigs tried some of the things he does back to the basket, they'd trip over their own two feet. If SLB22 is giving Bar props everyone need to stop c...

Missouri St is frightening right now. Deepest and most talented team in the league is finally starting to play like it. Wednesday is going be a problematic game for us. MSU can completely overwhelm teams right now. And teams are sprinting to play Indiana St in St. Louis.... What happened to Key tod...

I see 39’s point but i agree with you.... bury MoSt.... InSU doesn’t scare me as much as potentially MoSt does...... Yeah, if you look at it, they may be the deepest team in the field by way of moving 3 starters to come off the bench. Their bench scored 51 on Drake their last game out. I really don...

Re: The Valley

So, so angry about the result in Rogers Park last night. I'm not buying what Loyola is selling, yet they're likely to finish ahead of us again. Oh well, will just have to ruin their dreams in the semis again this year. I'm not sure. They have done something we could not do in staying with UNI for n...

Re: The Valley

Who wins the tiebreaker if we win out and beat Loyola the last game and tie them? It would be close, but Loyola would probably win the tiebreaker. If we tie LU that means we win out and go 13-5 and LU wins 3 of 4. Loyola is currently at 94 and we are at 104 in NET. St Joes man... God d-mn f-ing St ...

Outside of his sometimes late help defense, i dont think anyone is really hating on that part of Bar's game... That said, the game has been over for 5 hours. We won, let it GO. Keep your eyes on MoSt today......if the tire fire has been extinguished they will have a big say in how things shake out...... Re: The Valley

UNI’s 5 starters all played over 40 minutes in tonight’s game against Loyola. Green and Berhow played all 45 minutes...Haldeman and Brown played 42...and Phyfe played 41. Their bench gave them nothing. 4 minutes from Dahl, 3 minutes from Pickford and Timmons. That’s it. That isn’t gonna work in STL...
