Re: Rays owner warns MLB will "vaporize" team

If you notice, Spring Training Teams are moving from Florida. Some Florida people that I talked to don't like the weather conditions, cold and windy in March. More teams and fans moving west can't help the economy and fan base.

Re: Please don't shoot the messanger....(Albert Pujols related)

Albert already has millions in deferred money, so he is set after he retires. I can't see money being the issue and I think he stays in St. Louis.

Re: Could Theo really be heading to the Cubs?

Didn't I hear or read where Tito and Theo are in a rock together? Chicago was trying to promote that since Brenley/Kasper also are in a rock band. Anyone else hear that?Crazier things have happened!

Re: Down to two weeks

Just win at home! The rest of the win/losses will take care of themselves. The makeup of this team, at least on paper, appears to be stronger with a deeper bench. At least a bench that will get some minutes. I'm more optimistic this season than the last several.

Re: Could Theo really be heading to the Cubs?

If the Tito/Theo thing is a deal, then the Cubs will still be bad. Ricketts will not pay the money that they will ask, then spend money on the free agent market. He is still trying to get money from the State for improvements.

Re: Could Theo really be heading to the Cubs?

I think that Friedman always was and still is their first choice. Problem is that now that Tampa Bay is in the playoffs, he is off limits until they are eliminated. In addition, his stock is now a lot higher. The Cubs just won't pay the money Epstein would demand, same for Francona.

Re: 2011 MLB Playoffs

squirrel, you are absolutely correct. An additional one game wild card playoff, that is what Selig wants, is just a horrible idea. He must have consulted the IHSA when he came up with this proposed change.

Re: BracketBusters Update

The BrackerBuster might be not what it used to be, but as far as Bradley, we got meaningless games because we were just plain bad. Blame it on coaching, lack of talent or a combination of both but, BU put themselves in this position. Play well , coach well, and winning games will put us in a much be...

Re: 2011 MLB Playoffs

Whatever happens, it can't compare to the Wednesday night games that decided the wild cards. At this time of the year, I am used to watching College Football. But last night's baseball was some of the best I have ever seen in one evening. That being said, now Bud Selig wants to change it and add mor...

Re: Ryne Sandberg

This just backs up my claim and my inside sources that Hendry was the sole reason that Sandberg was not given a chance to manage the Cubs in 2011. I hope they retool and just show promise next year, hopefully under Ryno. And please, play some fundamental ball and just show us that they want to compe...

Re: 30 for 30: Catching Hell

Most good teams would not have lost focus after the Bartman incident. Prior and Gonzalez both lost composure and that was the game. Remember, they had game 7 and Kerry Woods and couldn't even pull it out. The Cubs will always blame the Billy Goat, the black cat or whatever. This time we blamed Bartm...

Latest is that Sox will receive 2 players as compensation. Wouldn't it be ironic IF Dave Martinez ends up in Chicago with the Sox, AND Sandberg get's the Cubs job! :td

Re: Illini 4-0 for first time since 1951

Well 4-0 is still 4-0 not matter how you get there. Now that it is the Big Ten season, they need to be concerned about special teams, with the exception of Dimke. They have put their punting into the hands of a freshman. Then they need to get someone to receive kickoff or punts that can be trusted. ...

Re: Dane Sanzenbacher

I also watched the Eagles Jermy Macklin drop a third and short pass Sunday night from Kafka that literally cost them the game. No one should miss that one! Dane's catch was critical, but it wasn't a game breaker. Everyone can drop a pass and yes he needs to catch these, but he has potential to be a ...

Re: JL settled

My guess is that JL cut his losses. He can now focus on the rebirth of Les/Hawkins again, but there will only be one Jimmy and Hersey. Sad the way things turned out, but lesson learned by BU. Hiring someone without ties to BU is much cleaner. Now we can move on.
