Liberty, Baylor University, Wheaton College - Wheaton, IL (my church home school) are all evangelical christian schools who have students, faculty, and staff sign a "moral" pledge (and at Wheaton it carries over 24/365 days even when they are not on campus), yet they all have had MAJOR hires or athletic players issues that are not morally based on the bible teachings or behaviors of their school's philosophy...Liberty's decision to hire such a person who has shown poor judgment and morality makes them seem hypocritical...ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS!

Yes, at Baylor (my nephew went there), the F-ball coach - AD- and college president all lost jobs and the profile of that Christian school still takes a hit...remember their basketball coach who covered up a murder of one of his players? ...

Wheaton College after their F-Ball hazing incident...students were not even dismissed from the school...if a general ed student had done what they did, they would be expelled...their coach suffered no repercussions and had the story not come out, he would have continued to play them, because they were winning! Even their AD and college president kept their jobs...when I coached against them ,they had a softball pitcher who got pregnant and was dismissed from Wheaton...she could reapply in a year...yet, they allow their F-Ball players and administration to look the other way on a MUCH more serious matter.

Liberty is just another university who does live by a double standard in its athletic hiring practice etc...but hey, we elected a President who cheated on wife #1 and #2 while still married...most likely has slept with prostitutes, and it was the Evangelical Christian Community who voted and supported him...

I taught and coached at a Christian college; whereby, some of my fellow coaches in our athletic department were having affairs with students, our AD left his wife for a cheerleader and married her- they all keep their jobs...even though our moral code for any other staff member, they would have been fired...

Reports coming out today that Houston may fire head coach Major Applewhite but that the situation is still being evaluated at this time. If they do decide to fire him, their top target will reportedly be West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen.

West Virginia coach Dana Holgerson is reportedly leaving for Houston.

West Virginia didn’t give him the extension he wanted and now he is gone.

USC is blocking teams from talking to Kingsbury about an NFL head coaching job. Not a good look from USC in my opinion

I agree, but why would an NFL team want to hire a college coordinator, who was fired from NCAA head coaching job, to be their head coach?

From what I can tell he failed at Texas Tech because of recruiting and because frankly it’s Texas Tech. Everybody craves the next Sean McVay and as a young offensive mind, Kingsbury fits the mold.

Ryan Day has dumped the whole defensive staff other than Larry Johnson and has now stolen Mattison from Michigan. They have offered Al Washington as well

Obviously it must be but man I don’t see Temple as a huge upgrade over NIU.

The AAC is clearly the best Group of 5 conference at this point. Plus Temple is in Philly vs being in DeKalb

The natives were getting restless with Carey in DeKalb. Each year seems to be the same just good enough but not great team, even though a few years they should have been better than they were. The Huskies became a bit of a train wreck at the end of the season (even though they did win the MAC Championship game thanks to a choke job by Buffalo). They lost their last two regular season games, looked horrible most of the night in the MAC Championship game, and then got blasted by UAB in a bowl game. He have jumped ship when the jumping was still available. Here's to hoping the next coach can get the consistency back in DeKalb!

Baltimore Ravens RB coach Thomas Hammock to be named the new head coach at NIU with a press conference set for tomorrow at 10 AM.

Hammock was a star running back for the Huskies in the late 90s and early 2000s whose senior season was cut short due to a potentially life-threatening heart condition. Hammock was a RB coach at NIU in 2005-2006 with other coaching stops since he graduated including time at Wisconsin and Minnesota. He has been the Ravens RB coach since 2014.
