Les looks like he has found his comfort zone at UC Davis. The Big West seems to be a perfect level for him. We’ll see if they can pull out another Big West Tournament championship later this week.

Loyola did their job as they did not steal an NIT bid, but Florida Gulf Coast about to clinch the fourth NIT autobid as they are getting blasted in their home court by Lipscomb. Down 30 at one point! Pretty surprising how lopsided that game is.

Lipscomb defeats Florida Gulf Coast 108-96 to win the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament. It is the Bisons' first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history.

And Florida Gulf Coast does clinch that next NIT autobid with the loss.

NIT autobid attrition rate is very high so far this year.
That's enough, Reggie Miller.

That's enough, Chris Webber.

Last year 3 of the top 4 lost too. 1-seeds are 0-3 in Motor City Madness (all against 8/9 seeds).

Iona’s back in the tourney. Always loved Tim Cluess’ teams and how fast they play. He’s been UTR impressive.

Odd stat since the MVC is the opposite where (I think) the 8-9 seed never beats the 1 seed.

Here's an interesting read on the influx of teams descending on NYC for Championship Week, and finding practice gyms:

Bruce Pearl has post-game exchange with Alabama strength & conditioning coach.

I’m not surprised that either Pearl or a S&C coach got macho with each other. :D

Not sure. Good test case for the committee as Middle Tennessee State certainly has at-large credentials. That said, if they don’t get chosen as an at-large NCAA Tournament team, that will just push a bubble team into the NIT.

Similar scenario tonight in the Mountain West Conference as Nevada is down big at half time, though Nevada is pretty much a lock for the tournament already.

Nope. UC Davis went done in flames in semi after having a decent lead lots of game.

Lol. Yep, although I meant he is at least winning regular season championships there, something he could not do at Bradley. Plus he did win the Big West Tournament championship last year, again, one more than he accomplished here. Hopefully he won’t be too upset though as this will be the eighth year in a row that there has not been a repeat champion in that league. The problem for Davis tonight though was they got stuck on a number for much of the last ten minutes and ended up on the short end of a 24–9 Fullerton run that ended their Big Dance chances for this year. Tough way to lose a game. Time will tell if he can continue to sustain the success he has had there. In the meantime, they are the latest NIT bid thief this week.
