Tremont Football

Post by deejay » Mon Dec 19, 2016 12:58 pm

Tremont has hired their new football coach, AD and Dean of Students all in one. Pending Board approval. What a matchup in game one when he goes up against his former Chiefs! Great hire for Turk fans.

Seems like he has bounced around quite a bit in as an Assistant and Head Coach in just a short time. Hopefully he is there for the long haul. Tremont is a nice venue to watch a game.

I think that Tremont is somewhere you go to stay. Good for them! They are lucky to have him.

Yes it is Zack. Great step for the Turks. He won state in 1A two years ago at Arcola. Comes from a great family and is a DeeMack graduate and wanted to get closer to home. Actually he didn't bounce around but took steps as assistants until Arcola came open. Zach is also a Iraq war veteran.,He is a blue collar guy and he will get kids to buy into his program. It is interesting that his game plans mirror the DeeMack teams of the 90's.

From years ago. But a nice reminder of how lucky any parent is to have their son taught, coached, or mentored by Zehr. They don't get much better than him.

Tremont continues to be one of the smartest school districts in the area. Coach Zehr is a GREAT hire! Best of luck!

See where Lou Wicks sold his home in Tremont and bought one in Tremont. Based on that and people talking he wasn't happy over the hiring of Zack Zehr!

Could you proofread the first sentence? I have a feeling it doesn't say what you intended.

We are excited for game one! My son's have 34 years of football between them and are primed and ready for a great showing in their HOIC debut!!! 2 freshman and 1 senior.
The senior is the one ya better keep a eye on!
Garrett Liggett x Pekin starting rb has 8 consecutive years earning the starting rb spot. The former NUC all American is in the best shape of his life preparing for this game!
This will be THE opening game for a fan of football to attend! ROUTE 9 RIVALRY
Very excited to be a part of it!!

I take it to mean that Ligget moved from Pekin to Tremont. He was a starting RB at Pekin for a few games last year...I am sure his dad can provide more info

From what I heard, they said Lou wicks retired because forcibly removed isn't as PC. Seems like someone may be a little butt hurt.

I also don't think Game 1 against Dee Mack will be very exciting. It will take Zehr a couple of years to get Tremont where he wants them and Dee smack has so many returning. It will be interesting to see if Job Linboom actually decides to shake his hand when the game is over this time. When Zehr was at fieldcrest, Linboom wasn't exactly the best sport

Zach could have have had the Morton job, but with Job not leaving DCM any time soon either, he chose the next best thing, a DCM rival that he could rebuild. Tremont did a bold thing, but Turk football was not what it used to be. Zack will do a fine job of rebuilding this program. IMO it won't take long.

Absolutely. I think anyone who got Zach is lucky to be honest. Morton would have given about anything for him.
