Potential Limestone/Illini Bluffs Coop

Post by Disturbed » Fri Feb 17, 2017 9:04 am

Discussions have begun regarding a coop between these two schools for football. It is on the agenda for IB's school board meeting on Monday as an information/discussion item.

Would it be enough to boost Limestone to 6A?

It would as the smallest 6A school this year was Champaign Central which had an enrollment of 1218 students (Washington was the largest 5A school at 1217). This co-op would put Limestone at an enrollment of 1308 students (based on this year's enrollment figures) which is roughly the same enrollment that PND has (albeit with a multiplier in their case).

Did the IHSA change the rules on co-ops? I had always thought that they were limited to schools of a certain size, that size being well below what Limestone is.
I favor capital punishment. But there are alot of cases where I don't think capital punishment applies (parking violations) and cases where it should be applied (murder, child molestation, illegal HS football recruiting).- BirdWatcher

Only schools in 1A (2 class system) or 1A or 2A (3 or 4 class system) may co-op. Or in the event of larger schools, only in sports OTHER than football, Boys Basketball or Girls Basketball.

So Limestone and Illini Bluffs are wasting time and breath on talking about it because it isn't allowed. You'd think they know the rules

Then maybe Illini Bluffs should consider hooking up with Canton. :xbug

I would think Canton would be a better fit for Illini Bluffs
