Week 1 Large School Football Discussion Thread

Post by GoBirdsGo II » Sun Aug 19, 2018 7:54 pm

Bloomington @ Danville
Normal Community @ Richwoods
Peoria Notre Dame @ Normal West
Galesburg @ Dunlap
Streator @ East Peoria
Canton @ Charleston
Pekin @ Oak Forest
Limestone @ Mt. Zion

I kind of feel like these games are going to tell us a fair significance as to what to expect in weeks to come.
I'm no President Trump fan but thank you sir for your comments in regard to the NFL and those protesting our nations anthem. You were spot on!!!

I agree. I kinda felt like I could go either way on most of those games.

Galesburg/Dunlap may be the most intriguing. I'll take the Eagles but this one may be the most interesting. Normal West/PND would be my second pick for intriguing.

Pekin has had a pretty easy time with Oak Forest the last two years, beating them by combined score of 69-18 with last year being a running clock in the third quarter. I would think that Pekin should win this years game with their returning linemen dominating the trenches. But you never know, opening game, three hour road trip and new quarterback. And there will be rain up here tonight so who knows how that will change things. I would think with such a big offensive line that Pekin should win a muddy game. But who knows? Oak Forest does have some speed and weapons back from last years 4-5 team and it is a home game for OF. So we will see tonight who walks away with win. With Sterling next week, Pekin NEEDS a "w" tonight....
