.That article by Steve Soucie came out on Monday. The next day he made changes in his projections in several classes including 6A. (See Soucie Says thread) He also has stated more changes are coming feeling that this year about a half dozen schools he seeded by winning the last game of the year won't causing a different postseason matchup.

That was an early prediction I made last night based on a possible 3 seed for metamora. As of this morning, early predictions has JCA going to metamora week one. Very interesting. Washington now has an early prediction of number 1 seed pushing Richards up north with a number 1 seed. To early to tell but should be an interesting evening.

Don't see that happening. JCA is a 5 win team and will most likely play a #1 or #2 seed. Besides 5A will be split into a north and south bracket....JCA will most likely go north IMO.

Soucie was tweeting out earlier that any 5-4 team at 37 points should feel very nervous.

As of 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Steve Soucie projects that Joliet Catholic will travel to Metamora in 5A.

Also says if New Lenox Providence loses to Wilmette Loyola today, that Providence will travel to face Washington in 6A.

Of course, lots of stuff could happen when scores come in today, but fun to think about.

4 teams with games that could make a big impact today, all have to win to get in. Chicago Sullivan 5-3 729 enrollment, Chicago Urban Prep 4-4 520 enrollment, Chicago Lincoln Park 4-4 2113 enrollment, Chicago Phoenix 4-4 1229 enrollment.

If these 4 win Champaign Central is largest 5A and PND smallest 6A. 38 playoff points would be the cutoff. If that happens 5A South could be

16 Evergreen Park @ 1 Hillcrest

9 Mascouta @ 8 Morton

13 JCA @ 4 Cahokia

12 Champaign Central @ 5 Carbondale

16 Jerseyville @ 2 Highland

10 Decatur MacArthur @ 7 Mattoon

If Metamora plays JCA and Washington plays NLP it's Basketball season for both the Birds' & Panthers as of the Monday following their playoff game.

All 4 won, depending on where the north/south line is this has a chance of being the bracket.

IHSA.org lists various outlets, including the NBC Sports Chicago Facebook page as a means for watching.
I favor capital punishment. But there are alot of cases where I don't think capital punishment applies (parking violations) and cases where it should be applied (murder, child molestation, illegal HS football recruiting).- BirdWatcher

No disrespect but a team that only had 29 playoff points isn't exactly going to strike fear into a lot of opponents.

Yes. Unfortunately you can only play who is on your schedule. Playing two 0-9 teams doesn’t help in that matter. But they shutout a 7A playoff team (Alton). They beat 8A Belleville East who plays in the SWC 35-7 and running clocked 3 of the teams in the south bracket for 5A. (Mascoutah, Jerseyville, and Marion).

Until they prove they can beat a quality team in the playoffs they will get no respect. Two years ago they came up and played a Metamora team that was very good defensively but had issues on offense. After a slow start Metamora moved the ball up and down the field all day against them.

Have to agree with these guys. Highland always reminded me of U-High. Good past records going into the playoffs but fold rather easily in the playoffs. Never know though, we’ll see.

.Question! Do you guys still have a Bulldog run out on the field with the team at your home games? I will never forget in 2014 went to the Highland/Taylorville game for a little "look see" in anticipation of the team I follow meeting up with one of those two schools the following week. If I recall correctly it was a second round playoff game. Haven't been the same since....

I think they might do it for bigger games like the playoffs. I haven’t seen a bulldog this year though.
