Pekin freshman stay undefeated in MI with 38-12 win...hope the varsity can pull one out tonight, going to be a real dogfight at Metamora with both teams still trying to make the playoffs

Pekin with high snap over QB head, Metamora runs fumble 50 yards for TD while dropping two TD passes. Dragons need to stop sleep walking, Metamora came to play and is hungry. But with my new positive self, Pekin will come back! :td

Pekin scores on 69 yard pass with Hill...blocked extra point 7-6 Metamora. Overall sloppy play by Dragons, dropped TD passes, long fumble return TD and now blocked extra point. I hope this isn't repeat of Dunlap game with turnovers and miscues. But my new positive self believe that Pekin can overcome these mistakes and will not make any more! :td

Hill with 82 yard pass, Pekin with 2 pt, 14-7. Deep pass has been open all night as Pekin receivers dropped two other long passes. Hill now has 151 yards on two receptions.

great quote from quad city times sports twitter on the Rock Island-Geneseo game tonight
"Rocky and Geneseo have not played since 1940 and they’ve set the game back about 79 years tonight. More penalties (10) than first downs (7), 3 turnovers, 5 fumbles, 2 pass completions (for 10 yards), 0 points"

At halftime, Rock Island 0 Geneseo 0. Geneseo has had the ball for 16:03 and just 41 yards  while Rock Island had ball only 7:57 for grand total 71 yards. Not much offense!

Yeah but your updates are more frequent and detailed!

Well thank you - I try! :D Too bad Dunlap is now beating Limestone. If Rockets could have pulled upset and Pekin won tonight, be a tie for first place. Pekin had chance to score again but threw interception...Pekin up 28-7. Game kind of droning on in boring fashion and heads to fourth quarter

Blah....Pekin allows 95 yard drive, Metamora scores their first offensive touchdown tonight. Game is now 28-14...the old me would say Pekin might let down and blow this one...but the new positive me says that Pekin will come back and score to put game out of reach :td

Dunlap finally pulling away...Limestone has a nice team but they just don't have enough players or depth. Their team seems to play well for much of the game but they play a lot two way players

Pekin with a nice win 35-14. Overall the team played well with few penalties and two turnovers. With East Peoria next week, Pekin should get their fifth win and hopefully qualify for the playoffs. Metamora played tough tonight, playing a lot of sophs because of injuries. Metamora needs to beat Washington next week and Canton the following. Tough road for Birds...

Dunlap with late score, looks like they are going to hang to win. Great effort by Limestone tonight. Oh and congratulations to Pekin coach Nutter in winning his first game AT Metamora. And for me, that's all for tonight. It's nice being up here in Chicago and being able to listen to Pekin game on radio and follow all the other games. I don't always have a Friday evenings free but it's nice when I do and I can enjoy central Illinois high school football. To all a good night! :td
