The question was threaten to do so... He cannot unilaterally do so regardless of governors seeming going way past what is legally in their power.

Several school administrators told Chris Duerr of KHQA, off the record of course, that they saw lack of funding based on playing sports to be a possibility. Whether they were guessing or assuming or basing that off something specific, I don't know.

Pritzker and his family just vacation in states like Wisconsin and Florida. He is only hypocritical if they play football while vacationing.

Let's ignore the fact that the science shows school children are extremely low risk of becoming seriously sick or spreading COVID to others, but minority and poor students are the most harmed by the lack of in person instruction.

With the number one political supporter of the Governer promoting this view about school itself, sports have very little chance.

To be fair, I would argue that Pritzker in the fall has strategically left himself out of the fight to reopen or keep closed schools because he knows its a no-win situation for him. If asked, but he would never be asked about this Tweet, I suspect he would say that's a local issue and refer the question Mayor Lightfoot.
FWIW, his fight with IHSA feels more personal and like he's trying to eliminate them so the state can run athletics. Just my opinion and based on nothing more than a gut feeling.
