(6) East St. Louis (Sr.) Vs (1) Peoria (Notre Dame)

Post by Football101 » Sat Nov 08, 2014 4:32 pm

Thoughts on this game for next week.

Personally I think Peoria Notre Dame will pull this one out and advance again. I dont think this will be a push over for them by any means.

I think PND will win handily. IMHO, it won't be real close.

I will agree that PND is very very good. They have not had one challenge all year. I hope you are right

I think PND has too many weapons. RHS hung with ESL until late in the 4th. I think PND has some big play possibilities in this one.

I just hope the Peoria schools collaborate to allow for a day/night doubleheader so they will not be forcing people to choose games. I say ESL-PND at 1p, Schooner's afterwards, then back for an evening of Morris-PHS. :td
I favor capital punishment. But there are alot of cases where I don't think capital punishment applies (parking violations) and cases where it should be applied (murder, child molestation, illegal HS football recruiting).- BirdWatcher

I always like the home team when teams are evenly matched, but this one will be a real test for PND. The ESL team might be similar to Peoria High?

Obviously, ESL is a more historically successful opponent, but this year's squad has not exactly been a juggernaut. They practically needed a little luck to beat Richwoods, and both PND and PHS dropped Richwoods by 40. It may be difficult, but I see PND winning this one. Also, PND doesn't always use the full offense when able to trample a team from the outset, so
There's probably even a few more plays we haven't seen.

Looks like game time is 1pm at Richwoods Stadium

That is a debbie downer so now I have to choose one or the other.

Well, I'm sure my prediction will be unpopular, but, I picked ESL since the pairings night and see no reason to vary from that. ESL with the "W".

No one has been remotely competitive with PND this season and I don't think ESL will give them that much of a game.

For them to have a chance, Natereace Strong needs to have one of the best games of his career, but he is so unreliable. ESL has a Sophomore QB and it would help to take some of the pressure off of him and the passing game.

They've got a lot of high end talent but they rely on A LOT of underclassmen and really don't have that much depth.
Fear is failure, and the forerunner of failure.

Ive seen both teams. Of course anything can happen as I have also seen in the playoffs thru the years. . But imo for ESL to have a chance they will have to play a perfect game and PND would have to make multiple errors..
Thanks J.J. for what I consider sound advice!

The eyes are more reliable than the heart when it comes to football. ESTL wins.

I also see the Flyers leaving town with a win. In fact I will be their biggest fan come Saturday. Look for me as the shirtless guy on the track spelling out "Flyers" ala Wild Bill from the late 70's Orioles. :fro

Simple. It's easy to just be a homer following your heart, but seeing size and power(which PND lack) is more convincing.

Just a homer following your heart and we have no size and power? lol how many times have you watched PND play? they're pretty big and their line is terrific. It's now wonder how they beat glenwood 41-0. They had some big guys as well....

PND's o-line is quick and powerful. Well coached, and they understand their rules and adjust on the fly. TE's Shadid and Hurst are ruthless and deceptive on PA. Andy goes for 120, Luke 80, and Barkley for 150. Washington will throw for 90 with TD's to D.Shadid and L. Shadid, and run for 2. PND will score 54; ESL-18

Do you just like to cheer against the local kids because they are a private school, or is anyone other than Metamora undeserving of some post season success, or ???

If Barkley is their leading rusher PND loses for sure. Feed Shadid(s), control clock, tackle athletes in space, move on to next round.
