Game will be at 3 at Peoria Stadium. Think ND rolls in this one.

Win, I agree... Roll I don't think so. Lemont is a good team and real good defensively. Edge to the Irish though

I also think PND will win this one. It will be a great game. Wish I could see it.

If the SHG game is the conflict, it should not be. I told people that my bashing SHG days are over and I meant it, so when people say SHG is going to win, I have to accept it. Given this fact and the fact that you have already seen SHG play this year, coming to the Lemont/PND game may be worth your while. I agree that it should be a great game.

I'm sure Lemont must be quite good- I seem to recall Oak Lawn Richards being well respected during the regular season.
However, as GBG or someone commented in another forum, "Andy Shadid is a ton". The real problem is that if you start overplaying him, they run the quick hit counter, or fake the pitch to himband pass it or Demarco keeps it. The entire range of skill positions are fast and talented. You really need to stack the box and overplay Andy to stop him, but it's trouble if you do. And stacking the box is trouble when the whole backfield/ some receivers have breakaway speed- one broken tackle or miss and it's another 60 yard TD. Barring an uncharacteristically mistake-prone game by PND, I'd say it's PND/Nazareth in a great title matchup.

So outside of Lemont being a good team, what do we know about them At this stage all teams are good teams, or they wouldn't be in the semis. Common opponents or anything?

I'd say a dream title matchup. The buildup to it would be something too. Who knows, maybe Colin Cowherd could do the pregame. Such a game should provide plenty of interest regardless of one's high school loyalties. I believe a PND/NAZ game would be the equivalent of the main event on an 8-match boxing card (no disrespect meant to any possible 7A and 8A championship game matchups).

What I got from a buddy of mine who has seen Lemont play a couple of times sounds like they are very similar to PND. They have most of the starters from last year's team back and the majority of them play both ways. They have good athletes with decent speed at their skill positions and their linemen are good size, not huge, but probably a little bigger than the Irish linemen...nothing new for PND there. Two good receivers (one has committed to Duke) so they do more passing than PND and their QB is pretty athletic. Running backs are average or a little above average. Overall their offense moves the ball (a bit more balanced) and scores alot of points. Their defense is really good and one of the inside linebackers is excellent.

I still give the edge to PND, but I think it will be a great game as these teams seem to be almost mirror images of each other.

PND needs to win the turnover ratio this week. Luckily for them, they want to run the ball, and never pass if they don't have to. Lemont throws the ball around the yard a bit, and PND has somewhere around 10 INT's; JUST from their safeties A. Shadid (3-4) and D. Shadid (6-7). If PND can hold onto the football and really beat Lemont up, then I see PND working off their Thanksgiving weight in Champaign.

If anybody wishes to watch this game but cannot due to living out of the area, etc., it is currently listed as one of the games that will be shown on IHSA.TV. This is a pay site that I believe offers one day and one month subscriptions. DISCLAIMER: If you can make the game do not rely on this as often the stream goes out or can be poor quality. But in full disclosure I did watch Lemont's feed (which I believe will be the case on Saturday) a few years back when they played Richwoods in Peoria and it was a very high quality production (and one heck of a game).

Also, it's being video streamed online via nfhsnetwork.com. If you are an Xfinity customer, you can log in (using the same log-in credentials you use for such places as BTN2Go and WatchESPN) and watch the game for free.

BTW, score is 7-7, early 1st. Andy Shadid went 72 yards to the house on the 2nd play from scrimmage, then Lemont scored on their 3rd play from scrimmage on a 80-some yard TD pass.

Is anyone from this forum at this game?

Thoughts on what is going on. Radio broadcast dost not really show physical matchups.

Lemont defense must be pretty stout to hold PND to just 7 so far.

I'm watching the video stream. Lemont seems to have the PND defense on their heels. At least, that's what it looks to me.

Halftime. Lemont will get the ball to start the 2nd half.

Winner of this will face Nazareth Acadamy, who beat Wheaton St Francis 56-28.

Lemont 26
PND 15

Lemont took their first possession of the 2nd half and went 80 yds in about 7 minutes, aided by a couple of key PI penalties by PND. Lemont has all sorts of momentum on their side right now, but PND just took the kickoff back into Lemont territory.

Interesting thing here watching this game is that Lemont's QB is finding open receivers left and right against the PND defense, almost using it as a sort of running game in getting 6-7 yards a pop in the short game. Also, outside of Andy Shadid running the ball, PND can't get anything going offensively.
