Adam Glaub
Adam Glaub
He is the future superstar. Watched him last year go 501/500 finished in 10:01. Said it then he will be with or beat Gillum by state. Today he ran 15:12 obviously coming along nicely. Others might laugh but 1440 this year state if nice? Watch for even splits along the way. Hes a pure xc talent way more than track. And thats no knock. I feel gilum better the other way but not of glaub talent level. Talking raw talent.
Re: Adam Glaub
I'm not sure if he will be able to beat Gillum. He is still about the same distance behind Gillum now as he has been throughout the season most of the time. That's not to say Glaub is not more talented than Gillum is, he's just a lot younger and hasn't had the time to develop yet. Glaub has a great high school career ahead of him. And Glaub did win both the 800 and 1600 AA state titles as a 7th grader and was a close second in the 1600 as an 8th grader. So I wouldn't say he is not really good at track either, but I agree XC is probably his stronger sport of the two. We will see in the coming years though. Metamora has another sub-16 freshman (Pedroza 15:41) too, and returns all of their top 7 next yr. except Gillum. Should be a good next few years for them.225guy wrote:He is the future superstar. Re: Adam Glaub
1541 freshman to boot. Pedroza did he run in grade school? Didnt c him in state meet results iesa?
Re: Adam Glaub
Pedroza was from Spring Bay and went to Riverview. He ran in the 1A state meet for track in the 400 and 800. I don't think he did xc. He has really been improving a lot throughout the season.
Re: Adam Glaub
Who ran faster than 15:12 in mid illini history as a freshman? Seriously? No other course than Detweiller bc the rest dont matter! John Weigel comes to mind.
Re: Adam Glaub
Both John Weigel and Mark Scheirer from Metamora were right around there as freshman. Mark went on to win the AA state title as a senior back when it was only two classes and Weigel was very close to winning a state title. I think he finished top 5 2 or 3 times.225guy wrote:Who ran faster than 15:12 in mid illini history as a freshman? Seriously? No other course than Detweiller bc the rest dont matter! Re: Adam Glaub
I will correct myself. Gillum definitely #1 and will stay that way thru state. I didnt give gillum his due respect!
Re: Adam Glaub
Wow 5th at sectionals today as a freshman. Well done. #clutch
Re: Adam Glaub

Re: Adam Glaub
He is the 5th rated freshman in the country in the 3200 and the only one in the top 5 not from warm weather Texas or California.

Re: Adam Glaub
All state with a 5th place in the 3200 is outstanding. Look for him to really make a jump in cross as a sophomore and compete for a title.

Re: Adam Glaub
I second that! Adam will be sub 14:35 next year. Only his closing speed might be his crutch though in a close race. The closing speed will come just not sure this xc season soon. But I don't doubt his talent!
Re: Adam Glaub
Was Glaub hurt over the summer? He s back alittle farther then id expect so far this yea. Its early but my state favorite is Gebhardt, his closing speed is the difference! Then Richtman.
Re: Adam Glaub
Adam rounding into form. At conference he looked relaxed in an easy victory. Not sure why Skaggs pushes first mile in 4:54 then gets crushed. Hopefully he'll run smarter race next time. Outclassed
Re: Adam Glaub
At regionals no Adam Glaub in results. Anyone know the story? A top 3 guy talent wise after track.
Re: Adam Glaub
Yes unfortunately we won’t see him the rest of the season.

Re: Adam Glaub
Social media is very costly. Well I bet Adam will have plenty of mental energy to drive him to great things over the next few years running wise. You can't keep a good kid down!!!
Re: Adam Glaub
What happened to him? Is he injured? For his age, he is by far the best cross country runner that I think I have ever watched before. Hope it's nothing too serious.
Re: Adam Glaub
Your answer is above your post. If it goes into any more detail I’m pretty sure this thread will be deleted. He’s a high school kid and has his name as the title of it. So I’m sure the mods won’t let it go past that.

Re: Adam Glaub
Seems to be keeping up with his training. Won Footlocker Midwest Frosh race over the weekend in 16:02. If he would have run the seeded race, he likely would have been top 50 or better and even faster.
