Morton's New Complex

Post by deejay » Tue Aug 04, 2015 9:01 pm

The new eight court lighted complex, complete with a viewing tower is taking shape. If weather continues to cooperate, it should be ready for the girls second home match. The Joal Stanfield Complex will be the class of downstate tennis.

Was told on Friday by architect that asphalt base must cure for about a month. Plans are to put finish coat on week of September 14. Plans still to play final conference match at complex and Mid-Illini tourney there. An upcoming dedication is also planned.

What a beautiful evening. I can't really say anything more.
This is imported Italian nylon and it's a special edition limited silk print and it was done by this really famous design artist.

Heard that funds are slow coming in for completion of the archway. Hopefully website is back up and running do people can still contribute. Joel was Morton tennis and to lose a young man at such a young age is still hard to believe.

Archway has been installed for Joal Stanfield Complex. Some of the grounds work still needs completed in addition to painting of the Morton "M" on the courts. Great facility for viewing! It's as good as it gets for downstate tennis.
