Great tournament. There is as much parity in the HOIC as there has been in years. 2-7 all pretty close.

Apparently 15 teams withdrew from the Little Okaw Valley, leaving four teams. Here's part of an article from the Journal-Gazette & Times-Courier from July 13, 2018:

BETHANY — The 15 schools that withdrew from the Little Okaw Valley Conference, effective June 30, 2019 are "ready to move forward," said LOVC President Matt Shoaff, who is also the principal at Okaw Valley.

The 15 schools are Arcola, Argenta-Oreana, Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond, Bement, Blue Ridge, Cerro Gordo, Cumberland, Decatur LSA, Heritage, Kansas, Oakland, Okaw Valley, Sangamon Valley, Shiloh and Villa Grove.

The 2018-19 school year could be the final season for a conference that began play in 1971-72. The four schools that did not withdraw are Palestine, Hutsonville, Martinsville and Oblong. Should those schools choose to join another conference, the withdrawn schools can keep the LOVC name.

Shoaff said the name is to be decided in the spring of 2019.

Of the 15 schools, there are 10 football teams: Arcola, A-L-A-H, Argenta-Oreana, Blue Ridge (starts all sports except football this school year and football in the 2019-20 school year), Cerro Gordo/Bement, Cumberland, Decatur LSA/Decatur Christian, Sangamon Valley/Tri-City, Tri-County (Oakland, Kansas and Shiloh sports co-op) and Villa Grove/Heritage.

What's crazy about this for football is that the conference had such a wide geographic area that the conference was actually split into two divisions (Northwest and Southeast).

The 4 schools still remaining in the LOVC at this point are all south of I-70 with two of them (Palestine and Hutsonville) next to the Indiana border. Now while it's not entirely unheard of for an Illinois school that borders the Hoosier state to be in a conference in that state (Mt. Carmel [the one not in Chicago] does this), I don't know if there's enough small schools on the other side of the border for them to go to or if there's another conference in that part of Illinois that they could fit into.

The new conference with the cast-offs from the LOVC will be called the Lincoln Prairie Conference: https://www.wcia.com/sports/high-school ... 1895798081

Blue Ridge will be added to the mix for football.
