TAYLOR BRUNINGA- ILLINI BLUFFS

Post by Dirtbags » Mon Nov 21, 2016 9:38 pm

Taylor Bruninga goes off for 42 points and 22 rebounds tonight. He will be playing tomorrow night at the ToC at 8:30 against Cloverdale, Indiana and their All-America guard Cooper Neese (30 ppg). It should be a great game!!!

Cloverdale should not have anyone that can handle Taylor, but will IB have anyone that can contain Cooper Neese. Wish I could make the drive back. Our local sports reporter is making the drive back to watch. Cloverdale is 6 miles away from where I live now.

Cloverdale wins 76-68. Bruninga with 37 points and 17 boards. Neese had 24 at halftime and finished with 30. Great small school game. IB played basically without 3 starters for most of the game due to injury.

Had 43 more tonight. IB was without both starting guards and a starting forward so it wasn't as easy, but he makes it look easy.

I have been told by an informed person that BU has told Taylor they are no longer interested . Pretty hard to believe. Looks like another Peters situation to me.

Bradley not interested but Illini are interested. Now that's strange stuff.

The kid obviously has skills. It is too bad he plays the washington generals every night. Maybe when they hit sectionals we will see his true abilities. Similar to what happened with Chastain last year.

Bradley is already oversigned by 2. All about timing and availability of scholarships.

Will have a decent test on Saturday, facing the Farmers at Farmington!

Saw the game last night. Farmington simply played harder and took the game from IB. Taylor is going to have a very nice and potentially great college career. He reminds me potentially of the Baker kid from Wichita State. I know that's a reach but if he blossoms that's him. He will get some big offers.

Sounds like a pretty comfortable win for Farmington. Was it closer than the final score?

Yes it was. IB led quite a bit but Farmington turned up the pressure and IB didn't hold up. Hike court helps but Farmington earned it

He reminds me more of Taphorn from Pekin, who now is finally getting a few minutes if playing time his senior year at Northwestern. Kudos for staying to get his degree.

Watching the game, I was surprised that he got 27 points. I thought #11, Urazc?, from Farmington, did a good job defending him.

Taylor is a worker and has a great shot, inside and out. Great free throw shooter. He would make a nice addition to a lot of college teams.

Years ago a friend watched Mark Aguirre play at Morton. When he left they all said he's nothing special. They got in the car as the radio announcer said he had. 38 points and 20 rebounds. So easy he didn't look great. I think people will be saying I saw him in HS about Taylor.

Westinghouse played at Morton? I don't remember that at all. Do you know if it was Aguirre's junior or senior year? Eddie Johnson would have been there if junior year.
