Nevermind found my own info, and what has happened here. DePue is the #1 seed in this tourney....

1 - DePue
8 - Lowpoint\Washburn

4 - Galva
5 - Brimfield

2 - Henry
7 - North Fulton

3 - Elmwood
6 - Princeville

How long has it been that DePue was a #1 seed, if ever.

How about Henry being the #2.

Could be some very good games there. It rarely disappoints!!
That Brimfield/Galva could be a pretty decent match up.

Since 1985, Depue has only had 8 winning seasons, 18-9 last year.

My how this tournament has changed since the 80's. I remember back in the day when Toluca had some good teams, when Nazereth was just getting started and came down for it. Elmwood, Princeville and the rest. Was always a great tournament. what are some of the teams everyone remembers?

I know it is a new coach and all now but almost surprised after what happened last year with Galva pulling out last minute that they are in this tourney. I would not have been surprised to see PVille fill that slot with another school.

Maybe they had a hard time finding a team to fill the slot is the only thing I can think of.

I disagree with this remark. They had the 2015 State Champion and 2016 Elite 8 Brimfield team, who had some VERY difficult games in the tournament. At least one of the teams in the tourney has won a regional over the last eight seasons (Brimfield, Elmwood, and Princeville). There have been last second shots, awesome comeback games, and a lot of good competitive basketball played. This year could be one of the more competitive years that we have seen.

It is never going to be a State Farm Classic and it isn't intended to be that. It is an 8 team tourney of local teams that don't have to travel that far (50 miles for N.F. and DePue) over Christmas break.

Not sure what you are looking for, but the atmosphere is awesome, with the smallish gym, and small town basketball at its finest!

I agree with everything above. It is a great little Tournament. It just would not have surprised me if they replaced Galva. I understand Galva was in a predicament last year but I also thought they handled it incorrectly/poorly. Probably years of things going well with Galva negated one unfortunate season.

And the smallish gym has gone away, the new facility is open, I was there the other night.
Very nice and brightly lit.

Used to love games in that old gym. Their were some tremendous crowds and atmosphere back in the heyday. Hopefully the new gym can create as much fun. Wish I could make it back for some games.

Old gym is still there, the Jr High plays there now, the new gym just down the hall in the new edition.
Also the girls holiday tournament will be playing in that gym while the boys are in the new one.

Saw pics of the new gym on www.galesburg.com. Very nice.

Should be some good contests, looking forward to it.

If someone can post results from the tourney games it would be great. Sometimes scorestream has them, sometimes they don't.

Elmwood v DePue in championship game. Elmwood won easily over Henry 75-48. DePue edged Galva in low scoring game.

I believe the final day match-ups are:

DePue vs Elmwood championship
Galva vs Henry 3rd place
Brimfield vs North Fulton 5th place
Princeville vs LW 7th place

correct me if I am wrong. Excited to see Elmwood in the title game.

In the early 70s Toluca played at Pekin and did quite well. I remember some toe-to-toe throw downs with 70s power Quincy.
This is imported Italian nylon and it's a special edition limited silk print and it was done by this really famous design artist.
