Regional Seedings

Post by raeja » Thu Feb 09, 2017 5:29 pm

Seedings are out for 1A boys. QUest and Bushnell top seeds at Woodruff and ATown and Delevan in Abingdon. Delevan played much tougher schedule than A Town not sure why A Town was seeded higher. Must only look at record

It's hard to seed when subsectionals cover so much territory. Look at 2A Olympia sub-sectional A where Tremont is #1 over Olympia. It all works out in the end, though, and this method is much better than the old strictly geographic Regionals with no subsectional seeds.

you are correct--there are lots of variables. And, I agree that the new system is better and there will never be a perfect system. Looking forward to the games beginning.

I heard he has a high ankle sprain. My guess is they are saving him for regionals.

I was talking more on the basis of being able to see him since they usually don't play this far south.

Gonna be intrigued tomorrow night to see if Bruninga is as good as you all say he is.

It should be an interesting match up between him and Max Muller of PORTA. Muller is averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds on the season (per the SJ-R stats I saw earlier today at least).

Any of you Peoria area folks gonna make the drive down tomorrow night?

Not gonna lie I wasn't that impressed with Bruninga tonight. Cam Scott, the sophomore guard who scored 31 points tonight, impressed me more than anyone.

Here's the scores from tonight's regional title games involving central Illinois:

Peoria Quest 62, Bushnell-Prairie City 49
Delavan 34, Abingdon-Avon 33
Pleasant Hill 64, Barry Western 49 (This is the Wolves' first regional title since 1992)
Mendon Unity 50, Camp Point Central 38
New Berlin 51, Springfield Calvary 34 (Most wins for the Pretzels in a season since 1966)
Carrollton 46, Winchester West Central 45
Colfax Ridgeview 46, Mt. Pulaski 35
Heyworth 81, Decatur Lutheran 57
DePue 46, Shabbona Indian Creek 38
Annawan 51, Galva 24
Kewanee 62, Monmouth-Roseville 53
Rock Island Alleman 67, Taylor Ridge Rockridge 63 (F/OT)
Dwight 53, Spring Valley Hall 32
Lisle 50, Princeton 42
Stanford Olympia 66, Farmington 65
Tremont 77, Illini Bluffs 76
QND 69, Pleasant Plains 56 (Reportedly a very chippy game including fans from either side being ejected, elbows being thrown at different points, and a hard foul towards the end of game that resulted in a near brawl happening)
Williamsville 49, Pittsfield 44

I'll post the sectional schedules at some point this weekend.

QND 69, Pleasant Plains 56 (Reportedly a very chippy game including fans from either side being ejected, elbows being thrown at different points, and a hard foul towards the end of game that resulted in a near brawl happening)
And QND's best player being ejected, thus making him ineligible to play in the sectional opener.

I favor capital punishment. But there are alot of cases where I don't think capital punishment applies (parking violations) and cases where it should be applied (murder, child molestation, illegal HS football recruiting).- BirdWatcher

Yep. Gonna be tough for them especially playing Olympia on their home court in the sectional semifinal.
