El Paso-Gridley Tournament Results

Results from round one of the El Paso-Gridley Tournament on Nov. 22:

Olympia 60, Roanoke-Benson 53
Olympia led 28-17 at the half, but R-B cut the lead to three twice in the final three minutes. Olympia, which made eight threes, was led by Isaac Riegler and Trey Wilson with 11 points each. For R-B, Jake Weber scored 19, Jordan Huschen 16, and Jarrett Bline 12.

El Paso-Gridley 66, Hartsburg-Emden 27
EPG led 33-19 at halftime and held Hartem to just 8 free throws in the second half. EPG was led by Aaron Steiner with 16 points. Teron Fairchild had 12 points and 9 rebounds and Noah Smith had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Friday's games:
5:30 - Hartem vs. R-B
7:00 - Olympia vs. EPG

Round two of the EPG Tournament on Friday, Nov. 24:

Roanoke-Benson 30, Hartsburg-Emden 25
Hartem led 15-13 at the half and was only down 27-25 in the final two minutes. Jack Weber of R-B was game-high scorer with eight points.

El Paso-Gridley 74, Olympia 46
EPG scored the last 13 points of the first half for a 46-26 lead and eased to a 74-48 win.
Teron Fairchild had 14 points and eight rebounds and Noah Smith added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Titans, who also had Jack Weber (11) and Aaron Steiner (10) in double figures. Olympia was led by Trey Wilson with 19 points.

Final round on Saturday, Nov. 25 (tourney records in parenthesis)
5:30: Olympia (1-1) vs. Hartem (0-2)
7:00: EPG (2-0) vs. R-B (1-1)

Results from the EPG Tournament from Saturday, Nov. 25:

Olympia 50, Hartsburg-Emden 44
Olympia trailed 41-31 with three minutes left before pulling out the win. Isaac Riegler scored 18 points and Trey Wilson had 13. Zach Phillips led Hartem with 13 points.

Roanoke-Benson 49, El Paso-Gridley 47 (overtime)
Jake Weber made two free throws with 3 second left in overtime to give Roanoke-Benson a 49-47 win over El Paso-Gridley. R-B’s Trent Weldon had hit a three-pointer with three seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 44-44.
EPG had led 42-33 with 2:41 left. Trent Weldon had 14 points and 10 rebounds for R-B. Jack Weber had 15 points and 11 rebounds for EPG.

EPG, Olympia, and R-B all finished 2-1 in the tournament, with EPG awarded the trophy based on fewest defensive points allowed. Hartsburg-Emden was 0-3.
