Bloomington Purple Raiders

The team took a big hit when qb Colton Sandage tore his ACL. Sandage was their main 3 point threat and team leader on the court. Anything said for concentrating on basketball, since he already had a scholarship to Texas Arlington.

While this is certainly unfortunate for the young man, I would hope not. Research shows that focusing on one sport is actually more detrimental than beneficial in multiple areas. I know at the school I currently work at, our best athletes and students typically play more than one sport and are involved in at least on other activity. Most colleges will state that they prefer the athletes they are recruiting to play more than one sport while in high school.
