Wow, I just saw Notre Dame's starting lineup - not ONE senior? Is that right? Three juniors, one soph and one freshmen? Geez, as good as this team is this year, what will they be like next year? This could be quite a two year run....

Some people don't like the private schools because they "recruit". All 5 starters and a vast majority of the bench for PND all had siblings or parents who have attended either the local Catholic schools or another Catholic school. None of them that I know of came to PND specifically to play basketball. Can MTHS say the same?

Manual defeats Rock Island 75-57. Rams will face PND for the sectional title Friday.

Winner will face Wauconda or Hampshire at NIU on Tuesday.

IHSA restricts attendance at all games
https://www.pjstar.com/news/20200312/ih ... -in-peoria

Won't be much controversy on deciding what 60 people get to attend, right?

Apologize for being repetitive. Didn't realize it was being discussed on the College board.

All IHSA games are now cancelled for the rest of the season. Sad.

Not that it means much now with the cancellation of the state tourney, but I have a few comments about the Peoria Sectional.

It really ticked me off that they charged a dollar for a one sheet program. I went to regional, sectional and super sectional games, they all had nice programs FREE. The scoreboards at the RC really need an upgrade, no individual stats. The PA got the entire starting lineup for Rock Island wrong.
Also as the teams returned to the court at the end of the half the RI coach had to go find a ball rack for his team to warm up, and when the 3rd quarter was starting , the ball rack was still in front on the scorers table, the ref took care of it. A poorly organized sectional. And who got the dollar for the program which by the way had several mistakes on it

This *** for Notre Dame. I know that Peoria Spalding and Bergen both made it to state but has Notre Dame ever made it to state? I don't know why they can't play the tournament this weekend without fans...if people are using trains, planes and automobiles :D and still going to church and other places, why can't they hold the tournament sans fans?

They never have. Bergan finished 2nd in 1980 to Chicago Luther South. That Bergan team had two all-tournament players in Tom Gilles and Scott McCabe.

1969-Spalding, coached by Ron Patterson, finished 2nd to Proviso East and Jim Brewer-played at Minnesota with Dave Winfield, 2nd overall pick by Cleveland- '73 draft.
