Washington sophs won by around 10 pts. Panther varsity put on a defensive clinic with a 41-21 win.

KHS was horrible last year sounds the same. Probably a needed easy win for WCHS. I made it out to the Pekin game and was blown away on how they lost the lead.

The overall quality of basketball seems a bit down in the Peoria area this year - especially with injuries that Manual has suffered. I can't see any area team at this point going to state...

Agree with you, "a bit down" is being very nice CIS. Washington should be pretty nice in another year or two. Central has a few good young kids to.

Washington moves to 14-5 after beating Canton. They haven't been playing the toughest of competition lately, but they seem to be improving quite a bit since the beginning of the season.

Competition? You are correct. There are no really good teams in the peoria area. Springfield/Champaign/Bloomington seems to have the best teams and players this year.

That is true but these things goes in cycles. And Manual probably would've been one of the top downstate teams if not for their injuries....

I mean unlike most of their varsity this year and a couple of the best players on that 7th grade team, which has a great shot to win state. In other words, the Washington-Peoria-Canton Panthers.

I recognize the 3 transfers from Peoria, and rumor has it that all 3 rent in Washington still having additional residence in Peoria, but didn't realize they had transfers from Canton. Who are the Canton transfer(s)?

Havens and Dietz? I was told from relatives in Canton that both families went searching to play elsewhere after Canton 7th graders made it to state.

Yes families moved. Both played 8th grade at Washington Middle. Did not transfer directly to H.S.

Ipava State Bank is on the southeast corner of the Washington square. Not far at all.

Thanks. So it's a renovated building and not new construction?

Havens and Dietz must be the 2 kids that parents were complaining about last year, apparently they were home schooled for a year after graduating 8th grade in Canton. Something to do with reclassifying them for basketball recruiting purposes? So deejay, 4 out of the 5 starters or really 5 out of top 6 on Washington team are not really Washington kids?

It appears that kids who have live and work hard in this program their entire lives get pooped on by the coaches. The WCHS admin should be embarrassed and appauled by this.
