3A Boys Regionals

Post by Ripple Effect »

Seeds and brackets are posted on IHSA.org
Any predictions? I like my Panthers but Richwoods and Uhigh are two dangerous teams if you are having an off night. I can't believe it's almost post season time.

Washington will breeze through their regional and sectional will Coach Brown at the helm. They will make it to state and he will do his magic again down state.

Washington had a great record but is not dominate. I think they will have trouble beating either UHigh or Richwoods in the Regional. Even Peoria ND could give them trouble. I think they will be very lucky in sectionals to get past Metamora or Galesburg, Peoria central, Peoria manual, whoever comes out of that bracket. Washington has been fun to watch again this year, but I think every postseason game will be tough.

As a Panther fan I think some of the losses in postseason the last 10 years do not make me real confident. Alec peters senior year losing to Limestone, Simms-Edwards senior year losing at home in regionals to an average Morton team, some of the tough losses during the Matt Roth years, the younger Roth's team losing to Morton (the game when the guy at scorers table sounded the buzzer and the Washington kid who was checking in got the technical). No game in the postseason is a sure thing

Oh how true that is. Remember Morton and ND last year. Who would have picked that?? The team this year does not have the expectations the Peter's team had. I believe these kids understand that they have to play their butts off every night to win. I heard Brown use the term on the news "it's us against the world".

Dixon is likely to return to the Peoria sectional again this year. They return all their starters from last year. Although the schedule they play is not as difficult as the schedule the Peoria-area teams play, they shouldn't be written off. They have been flying under the radar this year. They have only one loss (in 3 OTs at Rockford Lutheran). Solid starting 5, but not much off the bench.

I would not be surprised if Washington does not make it out of the regional. This Panther team does not appear to be as talented as usual but gets by with grit, tough defense, and outstanding coaching. They are still my pick to advance to the RC.
I favor capital punishment. But there are alot of cases where I don't think capital punishment applies (parking violations) and cases where it should be applied (murder, child molestation, illegal HS football recruiting).- BirdWatcher

Can anyone give me some information on Peoria Manual. They are the #2 seed in the Canton Regional. What kind of schedule have they played, who are their best players, what style of ball do they play?

Don't they pretty much run the same offense as the Hickory Huskers?

This is my prediction for the sectional...pretty easy and i think most agree. Think Washington will win the Sectional again and beat Galesburg in the final and then on to state for the PANTHERS...

Washington
Metamora
Dixon
Galesburg

Not surprised of the outcome, but was surprised to see that U High actually quit playing when they got down double digits.

U-High didn't quit playing when they were down double digits. If what you say is true they would have stopped playing in the second quarter when they were down double digits. You can't do too much in a game when you shoot 26% from the field. Your comment does an injustice to the kids who continued to play hard until the final buzzer and demonstrates your lack of knowledge about the great game of basketball.
