Must be talking about ND and its loss to close to last place Canton? 1-0--good pitchers duel with a no show for all the D1 bats? ND finishes with something around 12 losses--makes one wonder for sure. Did the Hurst kid pitch at all this year?

All I can say is, enjoy the smoke and mirror show on the hilltop this year, because you will not see it again for a while!!

Metamora and Washington tonight for the regional championship. Hopefully the boys will take a cue from the Panthers softball team.

I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with this sentiment.

Gotta coach the youngster in his game tonight, or else I would be there.

24-12
I favor capital punishment. But there are alot of cases where I don't think capital punishment applies (parking violations) and cases where it should be applied (murder, child molestation, illegal HS football recruiting).- BirdWatcher

Monday appears to be a tough one against a St. Francis team that won 14-0 today.

That's correct.....Augustana and Alleman share ball diamonds there....it's right along John Deere Expressway, West of I-74, between 7th and 16th streets. Official address is 1031 43rd Avenue, Moline. You have to take some off-streets from the Expressway to get there. I'd recommend taking I-74 to the John Deere Expressway (Route 5) WEST exit, take that through 16th street....you'll go under a skywalk and just past that is 7th Street Moline (You'll actually drive past the field a bit as you approach 7th Street). Take a left on 7th Street, go past the Hy-Vee that's on the left.....just past the Hy-Vee is 43rd Avenue. Hang a left there and the parking lot and ball diamond is along that avenue.

The run to the supersectionals:

St. Francis

9-0 over Plano
11-1 over Aurora Central Catholic
19-1 over Rock Falls
14-0 over Belvidere North
Combined scores: 43-2

Metamora

10-4 over East Peoria
5-1 over Washington
7-1 over Pontiac
7-1 over Geneseo
Combined scores: 29-7

The Birds chances are slim and none. If i didnt have a relative playing, i would stay home.

The Birds have a good chance to win. It may not be over 50%, but they are a very good team who is very capable of winning the game. It is not a best of seven affair. For one game they need to have great pitching, hitting, and defense. Are they capable of that? Of course they are.
