Phoenix

Just got back from a week of spring training baseball in Phoenix. Took a day and checked out the hiking in the area. Phoenix is an absolute hiking Mecca. Literally hundreds of trails that are well marked and get enough use to be very easy to follow. They can be crowded depending on which area you go to and the time of year. I did the South Mountain Pyramid which is a 5.5 to 6 mile out and back (depending on which trail guide you use) and has an elevation gain of around 1400 feet. Most of that is at the end of the out section and happens in the last 3/4 of a mile or so. Definitely a cardio workout if you're up to it.
