Josh Earley was a BU commit at some point and he committed to Northern Kentucky today.

If you are correct on that, then that could be a good sign. Couldn't it?

I don't know. I can think of a dozen reasons to pick no kentucky over Bradley. But basketball conference and level of play doesn't seem close to me.

So, then I think did we tell him to look elsrwhere ? I can't explain why he would switch to no kentucky otherwise.

I wouldn't look into it that much. Once an "offer" is made it's not always there---the interest dries up by the team--the interest dries up from the player, etc.

And I don't mean to pick on you---but if we can't see why a player would choose a school like NKU over Bradley because of "baskeball conference and level of play" how can we ever expect Bradley to get a kid with "higher" offers?

I don't think Josh Earley was ever a BU commit - you must be thinking of someone else

I think he narrowed and had Bradley in his final six

Meant recruit. Not commit. My mistake.

That changes my feelings. I was thnking if we took a silent commit from him why would he switch to Northern Kentucky ?

But back to your point. I have a little meatball fan in me. It upsets me when someone I really think could help us, and the coaches seem interested goes to a lower level school. Like Kawanise Wilkins last year. I find it hard to understand.

I'm sure the fans of a number of Big Ten schools felt the same about Josh Cunningham.

I've heard we're supposed to have a few guys on campus this weekend for visits. I haven't heard any names or if any of the visits are official visits. Has anyone heard or seen anything in the Twitter-verse?

Alex Hemenway, who came on an official visit last weekend, has said Clemson and DePaul have scheduled to come see him at an open gym next week. He has connections to Brownell.

If we have multiple visits scheduled over the next few weekends, is Hemenway the priority?

I think you can make a guy a priority but also have other plans in place. Like most kids, I am sure Hemenway would like to go to an ACC school if given the opportunity. Maybe he will wait for that, maybe not. Bradley can't just sit back and wait for him to decide.

Stephan Gabriel and Alex Hemenway were here last weekend. Antonio Thomas is coming this weekend.

I think we have a shot with all 3 to varying degrees. If we don’t land at least one I’ll be surprised. I think we have other visitors lined up beyond this weekend as well, and that we are very actively recruiting this fall prior to practice starting in a couple of weeks.

Im anxious but optimistic for this fall class.

Totally agree. I guess my question was more is Hemenway a step above the other guys we have coming in? If you had to prioritize them, would he be at the top or in the middle?

I don't know enough about it to make a comment either way to be honest.

Dave Renolds tweeted it. Bradley just received commitment from 6-7 Steven Gabriel from Hillcrest Prep (Ariz.).

I have seen him listed everywhere from 6'5 to 6'8 220... Nonetheless, sounds like a good get.

DIdn't he go to prep school for a year?

Looks to be quite athletic and physically strong... not sure if he can shoot from this video.

Sounds like a Wardle kinda guy:

What is your best skill that you believe will transfer over to the college season?

It’s not really a skill, but I have a really high motor. When I’m on the court I’m playing really hard. It’s something that I can always bring to the table when I get out there. Skill-wise, I try to be able to do a little bit of everything.

Looks to be more of a wing type of player. Great start to the fall recruiting.

I'm just glad we don't have to bemoan not landing a fall commit all season
