There’s a chance I’ll have an extra $60 ticket. Cubs game getting moved to tomorrow will be the determining factor. I’ll keep you posted.

Every year they push the " what happens at the smoker STAYS at the Smoker more and more." I think the spirit of that is to keep the juicy stuff from hitting twitter and mainstream social media.

Even with that said I have steered somewhat clear of recapping like I used to or at least I'm much more leary.....

There really wasn't any " juicy stuff".....I can give a vanilla recap but it won't win any journalism awards for sure.

It was " fresh this year....with the new Illini coach and Wardle only being in year 3. Both coaches were well spoken and engaged. Wardle is excited with his depth and talent. Said he is a very patient recruiter. Year one he had to assemble a team but now he isn't going to rush into grabbing just anyone.

Said Stip has a very high basketball IQ and CHilDS is " in the rotation" today. I get the feeling hes going to be a good one. One very astute fan pointed out successful BU teams of days gone by had a go to guy like Hawk....Parker...and did he feel he had or needed a go to guy or was he more team oriented. He said he definitely likes, whats...would love to have a 1-2 punch but didn't say WHO those 2 guys are or would be.

Said right now they will play anyone.....realizes they RPI needs to get at or above 100 before the Daytons of the world will come here. He also said now that teams see we have are starting 5 all back its REALLY hard to get teams here.

Both coaches liked the new longer box.

Thats all I got....great time. If the powers that be feel this is breaking the Smoker rules feel free to cheese it but as I said I don't think this is earth shattering news that will get anyone in trouble.

Good cause with a ton of $$ raised for youth sports. If you aren't a member of the ISC go to the website and join.....20$ for a year to help local YUTS.

Average age of the spaghetti supper is about 75.
Average age of the smoker is more like 45-55.

So 45-55=50ish..... i agree :td

Spag dinner good comparison......much older crowd if you don’t count the kids which aren’t appropriate for smoker!!

So who's going?
“Bradley is a dream job for me. Why Bradley? It’s very simple. I knew all about Bradley growing up. I played at Carver Arena a couple of times. We didn’t win those games, but I plan on winning a lot there in the future.” - Brian Wardle, March 27, 2015
