Depends on how we define small school players of course, but the sample is pretty small. You wouldn’t actively look for a small school kid, but if done well you can find overlooked talent. Tyreke Key was at as small a school as you can find, in the sticks, and is on the all-freshman team.

By definition a “small” school isn’t going to have many examples of D1 success because they have a small enrollment.

Yeah, i think its easier these days if the small school kid is a part of a solid AAU program too because they can then at least be evaluated against talent as opposed to other small school competition

Name some small school players that did well at Bradley?
That’s not the question. In general are small school players at a higher risk of flaming out then anyone else?

But Trevor Trimpe. JJ Tuaui. Luke Jackson. Will Egolf. They all had nice careers.
I would say that because there are less, the percentage is definitely higher sure...

If you want me to find specific examples, I'm sure i could find them but that's pretty time consuming...

Also, many would say JJ Tauai was pretty underwhelming for the first 2.5 years and never became the guy we were told he would be.
95% of recruits don’t become the guy we were told they would be. Any dude who starts on a Sweet 16 is considered a solid recruit in the end in my world.

I would need to see strong evidence that a higher percentage of small school guys “flame out” compared to big school guys.

Who has been a small school recruit since Mo? Here’s who I can think of. Rembert and Reggie Hall went to smallish privates, but I don’t think that’s what you’re talking about because their conferences were tough.

Prosser
Egolf
Singh?
McCain?
Tauai
Stemler

Michael Moreno scores 24 pts with 9 boards to lead Scott County over Trinity in the Kentucky final 16 tourney at Rupp Arena to advance to the final 8. Moreno scored all of Scott County’s pts in the first quarter. Trinity was the best competition in the final 16 for Scott County. Scott County hit a 3 pointer with 5 seconds left to win by 1.

And we offered him some time ago and I had the chance to watch him play and was just updating everyone on a possible recruit. Looked good, strong kid. Nothing else.

8 players transferring from Pitt.
Whomever is getting that job is basically going to have to Wardle it the first couple years....In the ACC that will be really tough, so I hope the folks there are OK with more bad conference records for a few more years, and thats even if they hire the perfect fit.

I'd love to get a 2019 commit early this year. We have that opportunity now that we have a winning program.

The PG spot will be a huge need that would be nice to be locked up in the Fall.

There are some pretty good prospects to be had in both IL and MO among others...and I would imagine we would choose to go with another 4 year player rather than get burned by a JuCo with no true depth at the position

I would imagine this will be Wardle's top priority in the Fall. It's good to know that it appears to be a stacked PG class regionally; we'll need to get a good one.

I have unrealistic expectations. But it would be nice to bring over Indiana Elite AAU team to start off next years class.

Michael Moreno
Alex Hemenway

Then the next year,Mabor Majak

:D

I think that is Boya in the highlights also.

Loyola made a bunch of offers to some 2019 guys this weekend. Have yet to hear of any we made.

Josh Earley would be a good MVC fit. Undersized power forward.

I like that we're being psuedo-aggressive with our 2019 offers here in the spring. I know we're hemming and hawing on our spring recruiting this year, but the sell for Bradley right now - especially in the back court - is really for 2019. Those minutes really aren't available next year, but boy are they there in 2019.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say we don't end up with an empty fall recruiting cycle this year...

The best way to divert our attention away from the lack of activity this spring is to start looking forward to what we will hopefully be able to do with 4 open rides going into the fall...

I don't know if the mods want to put the list somewhere or leave it here--but I made a list of guys Bradley has offered for 2019-2020. I did some selective editing. If the offers were pretty old or a ton of BCS guys have more recent offers I didn't add them to the list. Don't want it to get bogged down.

I thought Hemenway showed Butler and Xavier as offers on his twitter. Rode I think added Rice to his offers (most of them the last few days.

I would love to get Hemenway. He looks like a upgraded version of Kennell (Great shooter, also drives to the basket)
