He must be developing at a really rapid rate. If anyone has a recent video link. Please post it. This video is frightening. He can't handle the ball at a biddy basketball level. But he is BIG. I am sure he has made great progress from this.

He's from Cameroon and has only been in the US for a year. As you can tell from the video the facilities and training in Cameroon are not exactly top notch. You can teach 6-11 though. Certainly worth the ride at this level.

Keon Clark was one of the worst high school players I had ever seen. He ended up being pretty darn good at UNLV and was in the NBA for a while. Last I checked he was doing time at Jacksonville (IL) prison, but beyond that tidbit I think this guy sounds like that type. I like it.

I am not saying I am unhappy with this commitment. I am saying I would like to see a more recent video. I have never seen anyone that raw in a video. But kids grow up playing basketball in the US.

I don't know...it's kind of refreshing to see a video of a kid actually demonstrating what they are working on-not just dunks, layups, and blocked shots. :D

He looked pretty good on the highlight video posted on twitter. Then again, I've never seen a bad highlight video posted.

Just a guess, but I'm thinking I weigh more than him.

Here's a short clip of him from earlier this year...definitely has developed physically and skills-wise from the previous video from a couple years ago...

Boya has improved a bunch over the last year and has two more years to put on weight and develop his basketball skills. If you watch the video when he was still in his country and the resent video you can see a major jump. He has high majors following him now so I wouldn't worry about is he good enough. He will be hard to stop in the MVC.

He is clearly more athletic than Koch Bar. I would not call Koch a "plus" athlete.

In that case, does he even make it to Bradley?

That's always a question...a lot will probably depend on how much he "blows up"...but I think the fact that his prep school coach has a guy on the current roster, and he's playing for the Adams Family AAU team, we have a lot in our favor going into this.

He obviously trusts and likes the Adams family. These are the kind of connections we need as far as recruiting and landing better players. Now I sit and wait to hear about at least 2 members that will join us next season with the departures of Donte and JoJo.

Definitely! He reminds me of David Collins, except we have four years to help him improve into a better version before he graduates.

I actually didn't think David Collins was a very good athlete either.

I'd say Collins was an above average athlete who had very poor footwork in college. His relative success and improvement after leaving BU attests to that. That said, I think this kid definitely has more upside than Collins.

I think we sometimes forget guys leave college at age 23. Many of them arent close to peak. If I read it right Aristide is already 18 years old. So he will come in more mature already so that is good.

I thought Collins, especially for a big was very athletic. What he lacked was a mental toughness/confidence. I'm going to guess Wardle works on that part with his teams. I believe JL while at BU worked very well with guys that were a bit full of themselves but did not have the patience with guys that needed a bit more nurturing.

Do you think a coach can make someone more mentally tough? How do fans gauge a players mental toughness?

Really LOL - Kids and programs do take the personality of their coach. Have you ever seen a Mich State team that was not tough or a WVU Huggins coached team not being nasty. So yes, a coach can make a huge difference. At least this is my opinion.

Or do coaches recruit kids that fit their personality already? Coaching a certain style has nothing to do with changing someone's mental makeup.

I have no idea if David Collins was or wasn't mentally tough. None of us do.
