The Valley

Post by tribecalledquest »

Interesting start to the season for Valley teams.

The top two teams lose in Bradley and MSU. The Bears lose AT HOME to Little Rock. Valpo beat a solid Toledo team and tonight ISU beat Belmont at Redbird Arena.

Salukis with a nice win over UT-SA, 72-60, in a Florida tourney. UT-SA was predicted to finish second place in C-USA. Freshman Domask appears to be a stud in the making. The transfer big from Northwestern looked good too.

Loyola fell just 3 touchdowns and a short field goal short of Furman, losing 87-63.

Mo State with an underwhelming afternoon against Alabama State, winning just 59-50 and never led by more than 12.

Illinois State beats the Little Rock team that beat the Bears 75-70, while SIU loses at Oakland.

Valpo fell to SLU last night. SIU dropped a game to Delaware as well.

Despite the fluky loss in the opener, Bradley is the most impressive team through 2 games. Completely unbiased opinion of course.

Evansville leading Kentucky 24-22 with 4 to go in the first half, but UK's making a run. Game's on the SEC Network.

On the other end of the spectrum, Brian Barone's SIUE is beating Valpo.

Mo State bounced back tonight, though.

We need our resident stats and seed expert to tell us how and if this matters much for us/MVC or only UE. AsianSensation where are you?

Coppin State takes down Loyola. This year is gonna be unpredictable and fun. Also our loss to St. Joe’s looks okay compared to some of the other Valley eggs...

Just for some perspective on how unbelievable the Coppin State win was:

Losing to a MEAC team at home ('sup, Loyola) makes this a net negative day for the MVC :joker :joker :joker

Ok maybe not, but this won't help all that much unless Evansville specifically wins Arch Madness.
That's enough, Reggie Miller.

That's enough, Chris Webber.

On the contrary...it may matter significantly if Evansville goes 26-7 and "doesn't" win Arch Madness.
Remember that atmosphere when we played against Michigan, having a stretch of play where it actually got loud enough that we forced them to call Timeout.

Let's get back to that.

I had never noticed your signature lines before bufan39 but I just wanted to let you know how much I like it. My formative years were during those winning '80s so it brought a smile to my face. :D

Glad to hear it, Braves4Life. I'm just shy of 30 and hope to one day see the sustained success that you did. I've been following Bradley basketball since the late 90s so that 2005-2010 stretch was the most memorable for me. I do however remember some of those Molinari teams being pretty darn good.
