But for his sake, best to do it the right way.

Is a red shirt a possibility? How many games has he played in?

He's played in 12 games. The NCAA rule is that you must not have played in 30% of your team's games, so we're past that already. They'd have to apply for a hardship waiver, which may or may not be granted. The one thing to his advantage was having the one injury first, and then immediately picking up a second.

I remember the play - rebound on a free throw. Fell to the floor, was fouled. Stayed on the ground for a bit. Was shaking his hand. Missed both FTs. Played the rest of the game.

SMH.

I feel awful for Eli. He was having a great season. I don’t see how a redshirt, even if possible, would make any sense for him. Just get healthy.

Here is my best case scenario... we play .500 ball and are 7-7 with 4 games left....Eli comes back in 5 1/2 weeks at home vs MSU, then we have at Valpo, at Birds, and home vs Loyola to close.... finish 3-1 and 10-8... probably 4 seed... just win at home ******!

As soon as the play happened, I was like oh crap, he just re-injured his hand. He stayed in the game and continued to play, so I thought he was OK and we got really lucky. Obviously not.

I think Drake is a top 3 team in the league and the Eli-less Braves handled them at home. There isn’t a team in the league that I worry about at Carver. I feel this team should be expected to win out at Carver, with or without Eli.

On the road, there are a few teams that are just bad. ISU, SIU top the list. But Aces, InSU, Valpo arent setting the world on fire.

I fully support this notion. My concern is fatigue. We certainly can't afford another injury. We need to find a way to win out at home against a very mediocre league.

Time to find out if somebody new wants to become a star. Henry? Ville? Kingsby? Anybody?

Also time to find out whether DB would like to start shooting FGs at a clip better than his current 28.8% mark.

Was Eli at greater risk of re-injuring that hand by returning quickly?

If its a pin insertion in the finger, is it too much to hope for only 3 weeks? I mean he did finish the game playing with it already hurt.

Next man up...... Anytime Ari wants to develop a post move will be ok....

I’d say this makes all games 20-25% tougher to win....... smaller margin for error but no reason to proclaim season over but i understand anyone’s frustration.....

I love Wardles attitude about these things..... we all saw how team responded to no Eli no Gabriel......

Go gettem men!!!!!
So I was in the airport the other day and I saw AL B., PM me if you want more details.

Yeah i think it is..... your cutting things now . I’d be shocked if this didn’t go at least 4 weeks and i’m betting 6. Hope i’m wrong......i’d say this time they error on side of caution too.....

I've seen as short of a timeline as 3 weeks post-pin insertion. IF that's the case, why wouldn't you put the pin in the first time around?

If the prognosis is 3-6 weeks with or without a pin, and a pin will guard against re-injury, I'm wondering why there is even a decision to make.

You cannot lose your best inside player and expect to have a great season, we do not have enough offensive fire power to overcome a loss like this one. The other thing that will effect us the most is when officials decide to call a lot of fouls as we have such a short bench plus only 4 inside type of players. I am really an optimistic type of person but very hard to be one now on this issue.

we're still better than UE, ISU REd, Valpo, and SIU without ELI. Get it done boys. 3-1 this time next Monday

Well we needed to win St. Louis anyway.

IF he can be back then, who knows.
