It has happened!

We found a way to get it done.

And I'm sure the SIU folks already have their pitchforks ready.

Of course they did....that's because we had a 53% career free throw shooter on the floor!

We needed that with Redbirds coming in. I noticed he kept the same 5 in game. Not worried about the Ft pct. He has seldom been to the line.

I liked that because if you make changes, with a miss you have the wrong guys in defensively then.

Also worth noting --- we have no automatic players on our roster for FT shooting. Our Center is our best by percentage and our best Guards are right at or under 70 which is not good.

Great win for the team and for coach Wardle. They all hung in there and won a game that, really, no one had them winning.

Battled through scoring lulls but the defensive effort was great and the best players made big plays. The lack of turnovers in the second half was really important. Gave the offense a chance.

Good job by Coach to adjust the rotation some. He only scored two points but Luuk had nine rebounds and was a solid post guy. Lundy made plays. Nate finally hit a couple. I think the starting five is set moving forward.

Now beat the Redbirds and keep it rolling.

I would prefer Nate over DLO but i know why he is in there.

We matchup really poorly with the Redbirds, especially if we play man.

Lets hope we get hot.

Brown hit some big time shots to close that one. What a relief. Lundy isn’t a bad player. Pretty sure I heard SIU fans booing their own team there at the end.

Luuk was unbelievable in the job he did down low and is doing the work we were all looking for last year.

Outstanding effort by him.

With Lundy, i really wonder where we would be if he had taken the 5th spot earlier in the season.

Also, i tend to have always liked Bar coming off the bench. Worked great for us last year when we started doing it, so why not now.

Really happy for all involved. Pure guts effort. Oh winning on the road feels great!

Hopefully we learned something from this, I really liked the 5 that finished the game (Luqman, DB, Nate, Elijah, Luuk). Easily your best offensive group. And we scored 37 in the 2nd half, with those guys logging a lot of the time.

8 wins will keep us out of Thursday. 7 more to go. Let’s smack ISU on Wednesday!

Luuk needs to be getting starters minutes going forward. His defense is serviceable at best, but he is one of the better rebounders and gives the team another scoring option on a team with too few scorers.

Lundy's defensive energy seems to create disruption and on the offensive side, allows the half-court offense to develop with a legit scoring threat with Darrell in the 2 and Nate at 3.

37 second half points. Two second half turnovers. It’s all about the offense with this team. Give yourself chances by not turning it over.

100% agree. I can do without Brummett, but I suppose if you want to buy a minute or 2 he is active defensively. I’d prefer to not see Hodgson or Pittman on the floor again this season.

This place is so funny. It’s lit up like a Christmas tree during games and especially after losses, but after a road win?
