As anticipated, Fox enjoyed the largest average quarterfinal audience in history, including 2002 when the US played Germany (although those games were in East Asia and in the very early morning hours).

Quarterfinal Saturday viewership for the past 4 cycles:

2006: 4.49M (ABC/ESPN)
2010: 4.982M (ABC)
2014: 4.931M (ABC/ESPN)
2018: 5.664M (FOX)

The Croatia-Russia quarterfinal hit 6.317M, making it the single most-watched quarterfinal match in either English or Spanish going back to at least 1990 (the first time a US-based English-language broadcaster carried the tournament). That number includes the 2002 quarterfinal between the US and Germany which only drew 5.335M on ESPN, but a combined 6.587M with Univision.

Apparently AA didn’t know Billy Hamilton was the base runner. What a lackadaisical play that cost is a run. After yesterday’s comeback win, we haven’t really come out with a lot of intensity today.
the team just went 7-1 on a homestand. It’s ok to actually enjoy games.
Also have an almost identical record at this point in the season to the 2016 team...

We are 0-7 with RISP and have left 10 on base through 6 innings against Giants.

Should Rizzo be batting third? Joe seems reluctant to move him down in the lineup, but he is absolutely doing zero good batting where he is now. .235 batting third in the lineup just doesn’t add up to me and he just looks like he is lost at the plate.

Didn't he hit 4th yesterday with Bryant back?

Milwaukee loses which moves Chicago to within one percentage point of first. If the Cubs win tonight they will move in front of the Brewers by three percentage points.

Huge game for the Cubs tonight. In his last outing Hendricks looked like his old self. Can he do it back to back?

Jim Hickey hinted today that with the upcoming schedule and trading deadline near, The Cubs could be looking to strengthen the bullpen and/or another starter. Now with Morrow on the DL again, that might speed up the process. He also indicated that Darvish is weeks away.

Sure would have been nice to score some runs in the 6th. First and third with none out and come up empty. Cards aren’t going to lay down.
