Bulls are 2-4 and have just given up 92 points in the first half. That is the second most points allowed in the first half in NBA history. Fred should be fired in the locker room.
You were expecting the Bulls to be a good defensive team this season?

I expected better than 2-5 in a diluted East and a better defense than the historically bad performance last night.

Just wait until they get Lauri Markkanen (The Finnish Glove) back. Then the Bulls defense will be even more like the Washington Generals.

Jabari Parker makes Markkanen look like Joe Dumars defensively.

Jabari is just...not good. And he is out of shape.

And the Bucks don't miss him one bit.

Saw Jabari in Peoria - was never awed by his athleticism/skill. He carries extra weight or just uses his body no where as efficient as bulkier guys like him.

News media today said Parker is overweight and ineffective . Hoiburg will ultimately get fired, but it’s Paxton and Forman who is responsible for putting this team together.

The record is what it is at this point in the season.

As far as the defense, they're down I think like 3 or 4 starters. Now not all of the guys that are out are great defensively, but it's worth pointing out that they aren't at 100%.

Quenneville was fired after 3 titles with a team that was .500.

While a different sport, how much more leash does Hoiberg get considering he is now 32 games under .500 for his NBA coaching career?

If the team doesn't show improvement by the end of this season, I could see him being gone with a year left on the deal he signed in the summer of 2015.

I am not sure if they could find anyone who would want to coach this team. But I have always said that Hoiburg is not that person. Paxton and Gar have road this horse way to long, but egos have have prevented any change.

A HUGE collective yawn about Hoiberg being fired... :snooze Nobody really liked Hoiberg as an NBA coach and he should've stayed at the college level where he was a decent coach. Most felt that Hoiberg was simply biding time for the franchise the last few years until the Bulls could get some players. Hoiberg will not be missed...

No surprise at Hoiberg's firing. This was always going to be a make or break year for him. Injuries hurt the team quite a bit this year but team still had to show improvement from last year to this year. That didn't happen.

Why now? Do they think Hoiberg is going to hurt Markkanen's development now he is healthy? Do they think Boylen might be a longer term guy so wanted to give him an extended tryout? Never cared for Fred as a coach, but GarPax never gave him a winning roster to run what he wanted to run either.

Just had to make a change. Team looks worse off than they were a year ago. And while injuries may be partially to blame, they do have a young core that they can build around with Markannen, LaVine and Carter. The Hoiberg was always questionable to begin with as Gar didn't have that deep of a search (though Gar would have you convinced otherwise) to get his guy.

Bulls trade Justin Holliday to the Grizzlies for Wayne Selden, MarShon Brooks, and second round picks in 2019 and 2020.

This puts them over rister limit so they waived Payne and will move Brooks to another team without having him report for practice ir games.
