If the perfect scenario happens, I will be in Chicago for games 3-5 against the Dodgers for a national convention. I would definitely be calling in for a favor or 2.

You have connections that can get you game tickets, hotel, and a flight to DC for those games? That's impressive. :P

And the Rockies lose again today while the Brewers win...I know it doesn't matter now, but I love a tie-breaker playoff. So close!

I saw something on Twitter about a potential Arrieta/Scherzer Game 3.

I am starting to believe that neither pitcher will be seen starting in this series.

It’s a who cares game for the Cubs and Joe. The nice thing is he has time to set up the pitching rotation, but who will it be? I think I can predict Hendricks will start game one and Q will be in. After that who knows. I think Montgomery will be long relief. Is Jake ready? Lackey looked good last night. Lester? Crap shoot.
As predicted Hendricks to start game one and Quintana in the starting rotation. Although Lester in the rotation was iffy. His last outing made him number 2.

I dont like Arrieta being on there if he is not 100%. Lackey would be more than sufficient in an if necessary role to let Jake's hamstring heal more.

His 4th team since July. Made his MLB debut on July 1 for the Royals. Later traded to the Dodgers, claimed by the Reds, and now by the Cubs. Although he did not make any MLB appearances with the Dodgers.

He actually did decent with Cinci - 9 appearances,. 10.1 IP, giving up just 3 ER. BAA .139, WHIP 1.16. His numbers are mostly distorted by his single start with KC, 5 ER over 2.2 IP.

That Murphy line drive gave me flashbacks to 2015. Luckily it was right at Rizzo. LOL
