2017-18 St. Louis Blues
Starting this thread with a bit of bad news that came down today. Prospect forward Zach Sanford, who they acquired in the Shattenkirk trade, will have surgery on a dislocated left shoulder he injured on the team's first day of training camp, and will miss 5-6 months. Defenseman Jay Bouwmeester will be out at least 3 weeks if not longer after breaking his left ankle in the team's scrimmage on Sunday: http://www.foxsports.com/midwest/story/ ... ies-091917

Just saw on the Blues Facebook page that Steen is out with a hand injury sustained last night. Dropping like flies before the s eason even starts...

Re: 2017-18 St. Louis Blues
Minus Schenn's colossally dumb penalty, I thought he played pretty well. I think as the season goes on it will look more and more like Army fleeced the flyers in that deal. Lehtera was a healthy scratch for Philly last night in San Jose.

Blues already up 3-0 with 5 minutes to go in the 1st period against the Dallas Stars in former Blues coach Ken Hitchcock's first game back in St. Louis since his firing last season.

2nd 2 goal lead given up in the 3rd period in less than a week. I know they won, but they need to learn to slam the door if they want to be successful this year.Bluejaygrad03 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2017 3:05 pmBlues win today in a shootout in an afternoon matinee at the Islanders 3-2 (2-0 in the shootout).

The Schenn deal keeps looking better and better. Lehtera has yet to play for Philly. He has been a healthy scratch in all 4 of their games.

Re: 2017-18 St. Louis Blues
Blues off to a 10-2-1 start thus far. Most points thus far in the Western Conference and tied for most in the league at this point.
Impressive start to the season, especially given how many injuries they were dealing with to key pieces at the start of the season.

Re: 2017-18 St. Louis Blues
I dont remember the exact numbers, but the Blues are something like 34-10-2 since Mike Yeo took over the head coaching duties last year. That is impressive and they are doing it this year without Fabbri, Berglund, or Bouwmeister.

I would love to trust them......but I feel like a Cubs fan before last year.
I just know its going to end painfully.

I agree. Our style of play has changed for the better. We have guys coming into their own so we have a lot more goal scorers .Bluejaygrad03 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2017 7:54 pmAnd I wouldn't blame you for that. But this year just feels different somehow thus far.

Think the Blues miss Jaden Schwartz a little bit? Averaging under 2 goals per game basically the whole time he has been out.

Their struggles are coming at a time where the division rivals have games in hand making it a bit tougher for them to lose the points cushion they had.pndbaseball12 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2018 3:19 pmThink the Blues miss Jaden Schwartz a little bit? Jaden Schwartz finally returned to the Blues lineup tonight. They waived Paajarvi to make room for Schwartz on the roster.
