WSF wins 3-0
I favor capital punishment. But there are alot of cases where I don't think capital punishment applies (parking violations) and cases where it should be applied (murder, child molestation, illegal HS football recruiting).- BirdWatcher

Ethan Skender was drafted in the 31st round by the Reds.

What Skender likely should do is play college ball at least a season or 2 in order to improve and increase his draft stock.

He's signed to play at Kansas State. If he goes there he has to play three years before he is draft eligible again.Redbird CC Fan wrote:What Skender likely should do is play college ball at least a season or 2 in order to improve and increase his draft stock.
Guess he could go JUCO route, but doubtful.
Re: Metamora Redbird Baseball
The only way I see he would not go to KSU is if the Reds would agree to pay for his college if he signs. Being a 31st round pick I highly doubt they would agree to that.Redbird CC Fan wrote:What Skender likely should do is play college ball at least a season or 2 in order to improve and increase his draft stock.

Re: Metamora Redbird Baseball
I don't see Kansas State as a big time baseball program. Any reason he chose KState over other offers?
go cubs go!

Must have liked the school and the baseball situation. I noticed this year that they were on Fox College Sports quite a bit so that will be nice for his parents.deejay wrote:I don't see Kansas State as a big time baseball program. Any reason he chose KState over other offers?

It's a quality program in the Big 12 which is a pretty good baseball conference with Texas, Oklahoma St, TCU, Baylor, and occasionally Oklahoma. I'd rather go to K State than really any big 10 baseball program to be blunt.deejay wrote:I don't see Kansas State as a big time baseball program. Any reason he chose KState over other offers?

And honestly the MVC is a better baseball conference than the Big Ten.pndbaseball12 wrote:It's a quality program in the Big 12 which is a pretty good baseball conference with Texas, Oklahoma St, TCU, Baylor, and occasionally Oklahoma.
