Peoria Central (7-0) @ Normal West, @ Peoria Notre Dame

Peoria Notre Dame (7-0) vs Normal, vs Peoria Central

Metamora (5-2) vs Pekin, @ East Peoria

Washington still chasing a top seed in the playoffs.

Metamora will have to fight off another playoff hungry team this week.

Dunlap's first victory over Redbirds in nearly 60 years puts them in solid shape.

Limestone at Pekin in week nine could be huge for playoff implications.

Peoria Central at Peoria Notre Dame in week nine just looks like a fun one to attend.

If Metamora loses to Pekin it could be hello, Hilltoppers in two weeks. :gagr
I favor capital punishment. But there are alot of cases where I don't think capital punishment applies (parking violations) and cases where it should be applied (murder, child molestation, illegal HS football recruiting).- BirdWatcher

Yeah, at least the two previous times were in Champaign so you knew there would be hardware awarded.

Will the PCHS PND game be broadcasted? I am pretty bummed that I cannot make the game in person, but if I can listen, then that would be great.

Trust me, Metamora will NOT lose to Pekin...the game will not even be close. And Pekin will also lose to Limestone the next week, thus missing the playoffs for second year in row... as Yogi Berra said " it's deja-vu all over again" Pekin's talent is better than 4-5 but it is what it is...

I will be shocked if that is not the game of the week.

I would not be surprised to see Pekin beat Metamora this week. If the offensive line is not interested in blocking, they can be beaten by anyone.

Plus, it looks like #3 is out.

When did Metamora start using 4 and 5 wide receiver sets?

2009? Seems like it was year two of the Fay/Peters backfield. In '08 would still have had Kanaga/Heinzman TE combo. In the following TE's (Fraboni, Jones, Friday, Ryan...) they started to widen to pull more out of the box.

I was making light of the 5 cannot block 10 comment. Rarely does metamora use 4 wideouts.

And the MI only breaks ties for first place. ;)

I'm not so sure that's what is best for the Mid-Illini. For Washington, Metamora, and Dunlap it's a playoff point either way. Limestone certainly gets a better seed at 6-3 than 5-4. Canton, East Peoria, and Morton likely don't give a care a this point. It's not like BCS conferences sharing bowl money.

In my world the more playoff teams the better. Isn't it better to get whacked at Gately by Mt. Carmel then to turn in the pads after week nine? Seriously.

Pekin will lose by 10-14 points against Limestone this Friday - Rockets have the type of offense that Pekin's defense can't stop....only way Pekin wins is if Limestone is totally flat after last Fridays big senior night win that gave them playoff spot. Pekin will be playing for their playoff lives at home so maybe that will help, but really don't have much confidence that the coaching staff can get the team ready to play to win this week...

I call this a toss-up. The next four teams after Washington in the standings could beat one another depending on the night. The Dragons dominated the statistics at Metamora on Friday night but made a couple crucial mistakes that cost them an opportunity. By no means do I see a Limestone win being a slam-dunk Friday night.

Actually, on paper, Pekin SHOULD win this one - just like Pekin probably should've beaten Dunlap and Metamora (who was playing without their starting QB) Ahhh...but then you throw Pekin's coaching into the mix and hence, Pekin is an underdog. While I called the PJS nuts for predicting Pekin go 8-1 before season started, the PJS was simply basing their prediction on what Pekin had coming back along with their tremendous size. But again, you have to factor coaching in. That is why in my post way back I predicted Pekin to go 4-5. It's the coaching... :?
